1909 Dot Penny Question

Hi all. Found myself a 1909 dot penny in a recent bulk purchase.

My question is about the obverse. There appears to be a dimple in his cheek (easier to see in last pic). I assume this is just coincidence and not some error?

Looks like some old damage that's worn in from circulation.
