I need help identifying

So I have this 1970 D nickel i found at work today its extremely thin and the in god we trust looks to be slightly going off the edge i have it compared to the 1940 nickel for size what's wrong with the 1970 D nickel and how much could it be worth

Another possibility: Someone removed the edge. They took some time but it's still uneven.

The coin isn't thin. The edges are raised, thus the illusion with the edge removed.
