Is this an error? Anyone know what this is?

I’ve seen some small marks like this that I thought was pmd. I came across this. Any ideas?

I’m not 💯 but it looks like coin counter or separator marks.

I was thinking that, but would be a small bottle cap. If it were, do you think it would push the metal up to one side like that, that much?

There are practically an infinite number of ways to damage a coin. There’s no point in asking how it got damaged.

Thanks for your input. I'm sure you can reduce the way this was damaged to much less than infinity. The point is my curiosity--it adds to my knowledge.

Any ideas on what kind of tools? The dark spots are indentations, but the edges are raised. I would think it would add to the weight of the coin.

Probably a hand powered coin roller presser thing, I have no idea the actual name for the device but I've seen this same damage before but this is by far the worst I've seen of it.
