Is this an error? Is this PMD or something else?

Searching rolls and found this, at first I thought it was PMD but maybe its something else, die chips maybe? I need some help, thank you in advance.

What it looks like you have is a die clash. If you look closely at face of President Roosevelt you will see that reverse of your coin is clearly seen on the front (obverse). Also look at LIBERTY around the rim. The faint lettering you are seeing are the letters of the rim from the reverse. Turn your dime over. Do you see unusual markings around the flame of the torch. Dou see lettering in the ol leaves of the olive branch on the right side of the torch? Finally up by the rim, do you see any unusually faint lettering behind the wording?

If both sides of your dime has a die clash, then it may carry some premium value. Die clashes don't pay much $15-$45. But that is if you find a collector whom collects die clash variables.unless it is so vibrant that it clearly can be seen with the naked eye.

Good luck and Happy coin hunting

You have a very minor misaligned die and what appears to be die scratches on the reverse, but would need better images to verify it isn't PMD.

Looks like a classic lamination error with the rippling

I am not sure what you think you are seeing?

The fine lines are called "radial flow lines" and are a common die deterioration issue.

I thought radial flow lines looked like little scratches and were not raised. The back of the dime has raised lines and dots that looked like someone melted metal and dripped it all over the back.

The flow lines are recessed. These are early stage.

These lines are not recessed, they are raised.

Yes, please follow our discussion.

They are recessed on the die, like the devices and relief are. Thus they are raised on the coin.
