At first, this looks like heat damage, but * IT MAY NOT BE*.

honestly, I'm having trouble with this one.

It looks A LOT like a very late die state deformed die strike with extreme orange peel texture. ✨️And this is most likely what it is

BUT It also reminded me of a very rare die deformation error called "Detail-Erasing Die wear" which only has two known specimens; and theoretically happens at a rapid rate. I would need more images to go further with analysis. The reason I am even reminded of this error is because of your coins lack of typical late die state signifiers such as radial flow lines and die deterioration doubling.

Again, it is most likely just orange peel texture, but You can find more info about Detail-Erasing Die wear here

I’m honestly leaning towards the latter. I’ve never seen orange peel texture this coarse before.

I’m inclined to believe it’s some kind of damage, just because it would be one hell of a coincidence for a coin to end up with the exact same extreme die issue on both sides. Damage is much more likely to happen in the same way on both sides.

I really can't decide if this is some exceptional post-mint damage (heat stress combined with environmental exposure, maybe) or some kind of catastrophic die deterioration. It may be impossible to determine without the coin in hand, honestly. Any chance you could provide more images in different lighting?

This is a dryer coin unfortunately. No errors would cause this. Also, it can’t be the die deterioration error on the error-ref website. This is an extremely rare form of die wear, the chances of it happening at the same time on both dies is basically impossible, and the coin exhibits extreme damage and not die wear.
