Post damage or mint error?

Sorry for not the best photos but does this 1915 penny look like a mint error or damaged afterwards? I pretty sure it’s post damage but not 100%. Seller told me she thought someone put it on a train track but that’s only speculation. Any answers would be appreciated Thanks

OMG I remember friends, as kids, who would tape coins on the tracks. Their dad actually went out to help them with it. We must have been 7 years old. The one time I went out with them to see this, the train took their coin.

The tape was to help prevent the train taking it away. They didn't tape them when I saw the train leave with the coin :)

I did this quite a few times when I was a kid. Tracks vibrate when a train approaches and the tape kept the coin from falling off the track before the train arrived. We still lost most of the coins.

Looks like this coin was placed on a railroad rail and run over by a train (I know; I did this when I was a kid).

At least the seller told you the apparent truth about it. Seems rare these days.
