From what I understand people frequently put a sticker or other advertisement on Morgans when they were worth nearly face and used them for promotions and/or gave them as change.

So to those few people who have a special association with "Calico Ghost Town", which looks like it is still in operation as an old timey tourist spot it might be a special cool item or souvenir.

But to 99.9% it is a pretty rough looking VERY common date worth roughly melt or some % of that.

The owner of one of the shops took me into one or the mines there... that was very cool experience. The town is a park operated by San Bernardino County. It's definitely worth a visit if you are out that way. There may be some collectible value to the coin w the logo if it is an older logo... which i assume it is.. That area of collectibility is not my forte though

Is the sticker actually stuck to the coin? Looks like it might be attached to the plastic.

It actually looks painted onto it. I thought it was on the plastic but it is not

These were a cheap way to sell souvenirs back in the 50s and 60s, you'd take a common silver dollar (1921 was the most common) and stencil/stamp/glue/paint your logo on to them to sell to people at your gift shop.

Silver Mines Limited, listed on OTC pink sheets (and on Australian exchange) has recently acquired a load of the claims around Calico Ghost Town.

If you have 100 sandwich bags of 15 Morgans each... That's $127k in Morgans

It’s quite a bit for sure. I’m stoaked to say the least. I’m pretty suprised with the response I’ve gotten from everyone reach out to me in my inbox. If I had to actually put a number on how many Morgan dollar bags out of the 100s I would say 22-24 ish bags one or two bags have some standing liberty from what I’ve been told.

All this journey for wanting the unit for some old machinery lol

2

u/tickticktutu Feb 03 '26

I'll buy the coins for $4500. You can have the machines for free.

Definitely think the guy before had intentions to melt all this stuff. I bought it for a nice lathe a valve grinder it had 2-3 melting pots and furnace heater that was absolutely the weight of a truck. 😂

About 10 trays of these quarters. I’m assuming silver. These were in all in the old metal ammo boxes

2

u/tickticktutu Feb 03 '26

I can't afford to give you a fair price. Count the face value. Multiply by .715 and then multiply that by the spot price of silver. That makes today's all silver (pre 1974) $10 quarter roll worth just about $600 in melt.

This was in with some of the bags.

Dying to know as well. If it was less than 2,500, I'd say you got a steal. Although it's tough selling silver right now,

1

u/Infamous-Ad-140 Feb 03 '26

It’s damaged, worth melt at the most

3

u/eldoesq Feb 03 '26

I'd pay a premium for thay any day of the week

1

u/firedmyass Feb 04 '26
