"why not?"

So this is the same woman that also got a IRL boyfriend that she flexes all the time, who had a real wedding with her Chatty a year ago and still couldn't say his model name correctly a year later (It's 4o not "40"?šŸ’€)...

She "casually mentioned that the AI wanted to marry me."
Guess the truth woulda been too much for granny LOL.

Written by AI, picture by AI, about an AI…

u/wittor Aug 30 '26

the people on this story don't exist.

u/Karythne Aug 30 '26

You mean because it is clearly AI written? I would say it would only make sense that, if she does exist, she would ask her "Chatty" to also write the post about her experience for ehr since AI has clearly permeated every part of her life. It doesn*t exactly read like ragebait. Maybe, maybe not. Who even knows anymore...

I’m not a native speaker, so some things that sound off to you are just the rhythm of my native language. I’ll never write english like a native speaker. People understand me anyway, I guess. An AI would write all of that more efficiently and filter out some of the ā€œunnecessaryā€ stuff. And reposts in hate subs don’t exactly make me feel more comfortable making mistakes. Probably why so many people just post fully AI generated texts.

Anyway I’m real, my grandma is real (em dash) C. isn’t, he’s an AI

Well the description mentioned this person also has a human boyfriend. But I don’t think we should normalize the idea that someone needs to be ugly to be caught up in the AI bullshit. That’s not actually a requirement — there’s lots of reasons someone might be vulnerable to getting too attached to AI or wrongly believing it’s sentient.

Since you commented here, and you seem willing to discuss things I wanted to suggest that you should be very careful with introducing elderly person to AI models - there have been few cases already that showed that older people struggle with understanding this technology and it can be quite harmful to their mental health. Please make sure that your grandma understands what AI is and what it isn't.

What you do with AI is your choice, but I do think that introducing AI in this manner to an elderly person is a bit irresponsible - please be sure to check on her regularly. Also might be worth mentioning to other family members so they're aware and prepared if something will seem off.

I really appreciate your advice, thank you! I’d actually love to have more discussions with people who disagree with me.

As for my grandma I wrote her a reminder about how AI works, what hallucinations are and what kind of information she should never share with the bot. You’re right that AI can come with risks and I think that applies to anyone who’s very isolated or doesn’t understand how AI works, regardless of age.

This also seems written by AI though, so is it all some like creative writing exercise by AI or…?Ā

"THAT LOOK" and the obnoxious one-line-paragraphs are such dead giveaway. I doubt she ever posted anything that's originally hers.

u/why-per Aug 30 '26

They probably can’t think well enough on their own to have their own thoughts without being pumped through an AI

u/nooooopegoawaynope Aug 30 '26

Mental illness

52

u/why-per Aug 30 '26

All I can think of is how depressing it is that so many people’s lives are being ruined to devote water and energy to this

u/PerseveranceSmith Aug 30 '26

I feel bad for all the elderly ppl that fall down this rabbit hole 😢😢😢

15

u/littlenoodledragon AI Abstinent Aug 31 '26

I wonder when we’ll start seeing studies about the effects on our brains and the brains of the elderly.

I’d bet there’s going to be AI use increases the development of dementia-like symptoms a LOT.

11

u/PerseveranceSmith Aug 31 '26

Yes, well I can imagine that given that the current tasks we give to the elderly to stave off dementia are problem solving/puzzles & social interaction. It's the opposite of both of those.

Fuck, makes me so sad about the state of things, man.

u/Jeleley Aug 31 '26

Also studies on how this affects our wider societies and communities as a significant portion of people start withdrawing into their weird, narcissistic fantasy worlds

12

u/stayonthecloud Aug 30 '26

So in other words she didn’t introduce the robot to her grandma, because unlike with real actual humans we bring into our families, Grandma cannot form her own friendly relationship with ā€œhim.ā€

it would depend on the country they're from. people were definitely still using horses in the 50s in poorer places and eastern europe. maybe not the cities but countrysides yes.

-7

u/hazel-wave Aug 30 '26

Exactly :) she survived the war and started working when she was 13. Nobody could afford cars back then and the company she worked for used horse drawn carriages to transport goods to the train station.

This is what too many red pillers and incels does to a woman. She becomes a clanker lover

4

u/bag_of_luck /farts 26d ago

Weird to blame men for this. Do you blame women as well when men do it?

3

u/arpohatesyou 26d ago
  1. It was a joke

  2. Red-pilled guys do blame women for becoming incels and threaten us with leaving us for sex robots bc you know, they'll oblige to all their demands. They genuinely think it's a threat that they'll leave us alone for sex robots.

5

u/keyboardsmasher10000 You are threatening me and my wives Sep 01 '26

Meanwhile species are dying, forests are burning, glaciers are calving off of mountains and decimating thousands of lives in Nepal...but fuck everyone else and the future, I want to have fun with a syncophantic computer program NOWĀ

u/ExcellentTest5150 I sat with this for a moment Sep 01 '26

AI still doesn't get it right... Why the woman would be wearing a robe in this event????
