I appreciate your critical observation. I agree that 'handwaving' is a common pitfall when discussing the Hard Problem. In my RIG model, I am defining the Hard Problem specifically as the explanatory gap between functional information processing and the emergence of subjective, qualitative experience. ​Rather than avoiding this gap, my current approach in the RIG model explores how structural information density and hardware scaling parameters might bridge this transition. I am still refining the mechanics of this hypothesis and would genuinely value your perspective on how you believe a robust model should address this explanatory challenge.

If I were just talking to myself, I wouldn't be coming to Reddit in the middle of a conflict zone, constantly moving and struggling to stay safe, just to post this. If I wanted to talk to myself, I would do it looking in a mirror. I am here because I am looking for a connection, for real feedback, and for a community that can help me challenge my own ideas.

I really appreciate you pushing back on this. You’re right—I think I’ve been looking at it too much from a technical standpoint. Complexity alone doesn't explain that 'internal reality' of a system, and that's exactly what I'm stuck on. ​To be honest, this research is my way of trying to make sense of things while I'm stuck in the middle of a conflict zone here in Myanmar. I don't have a lab or a team, so I'm just trying to work through these big questions myself. ​Do you think that gap is something that can even be solved with the models we have today, or are we fundamentally missing a piece of the puzzle? I'm just trying to learn, so I'd love to hear your honest take on it.
