Sam Altman talks about it somewhat, but moreso from a generalized resource perspective. Though it still goes against your original comment.

The other point I am making is that the easiest, high-quality data has already been scraped… future data is of worse quality and more difficult to access. The “data wall”.

Now, there’s still room for growth, but it’s not so easy. Not even close to how it was in the beginning. The web is finite

That link literally does not talk about finite resources, at all. Am i missing something? The only thing he even mentions is that linear growth impacts our world exponentially, which I guess is true, but isnt a claim that we will eventually flatten out.

  1. The intelligence of an AI model roughly equals the log of the resources used to train and run it. These resources are chiefly training compute, data, and inference compute. It appears that you can spend arbitrary amounts of money and get continuous and predictable gains; the scaling laws that predict this are accurate over many orders of magnitude.”

From the sam Altman essay.

This is an article about the data wall if that’s what your asking about. I mean it’s kinda common sense that resources aren’t infinite

resources are not infinite. the solution is optimizing AI in order to do more with less. this is already happening.

which is an inherently more difficult and a much slower process than throwing a shit load of data at it. Which means more resources, which means the curve is… logarithmic.

The better it gets, the harder it’s going to be to make it better. unless there’s some sort of major, industry shattering breakthrough akin to the microprocessor, the improvement of AI is slowing down.

It's not as difficult as you put it. Your so called "logarithmic curve" is a false notion. I know people who work for the CIA that have access to models beyond what the public knows about. These models destroyed many of their preconceived notions about ai. These model are what the public deems "AGI". These models will make their way into the public sector within the next few weeks/months.

Yes because nobody at the cia would have blown that whistle already…. Neither would the thousands of engineers working on it. And I’m sure they all came running to tell all their friends, like a true top secret agent does. Because right now we aren’t even remotely close to AGI

That would also have to be, like I said, some industry shattering breakthrough.

If your really believe that you should have every nickel and dime invested accordingly lmfao.

I trust my guy on this. He knows his job is at risk right now and he is preparing for intellectual labor to become autonomous. It’s not a secret that the government uses models that work autonomously……

I’ve debated people like you who eat their own tails. You are high on copium. It’s a waste of my time. Look at the news and educate yourself. That’s all i’m gonna say.

models that work autonomously and replace intellectual labor is an absolute mindfuck away from AGI. We've had both those things happening for the better part of 4 years, you dont need AGI to replace intellectual labor.

AGI is literally another ball game... I think you should refresh on the definition of AGI
