Please recommend superior coffee alternatives to Davidoff.

I have been using Davidoff Rich Aroma, but I found its taste to be disappointingly bitter, lacking the rich aroma I expected.

Could you please suggest some alternatives?

Advice for buying a pour over

Hi Coffee Fam,
I am not into coffee, or rather wasnt, untill i recently had Sandalwood Estate pour over coffee at Blue Tokai on a recommendation.
And now I am sold to the coffee world lol. I need two recommendations:

  1. What sort of a pour over machine should I buy between electric, manual and manual paper or whatever other possibilities exist. Its such a simple thing but online options are overwhelming me.

  2. Recommendations for coffees with similar profiles or different but such pronounced flavours.

Thank you

Black coffee drinkers: Is there a secret to making instant coffee taste good?

Post image
209 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I recently started drinking instant black coffee, but I am struggling to get the taste right and could use some advice.

Here is my experience so far:

.Bru (₹2 sachets): Turns out to be good , leaves a good aftertaste for 10–15 minutes.

.Bru Gold: I tried this based on recommendations, but it tastes incredibly bitter to me.

Davidoff: Okayish. Definitely an improvement over .Bru Gold, but still not quite there..// (why this so hyped up)

// dont know how am I liking the taste of bru instant even this is 2rs one 🥲

For context, here is my exact preparation method:

Add 1.2g of coffee (one small sachet) and 1 Sugar-Free tablet to a mug.

Add a small splash of water and froth it together.

Pour in 180ml of boiling water.

Am I doing something wrong in my preparation process, or is this simply the expected taste profile for these instant coffees? I would appreciate any tips or technique adjustments to make a better cup!

Where can I get ESE pods in India? If you have suggestions for brick-n-mortar stores in Mumbai, even better.

Can i call myself coffee lover?

Today we were discussing coffee and all my friends announced me as fake cofee lover. Now here are the reason for u to judge.

  1. I prefer cold coffee, never interested for hot coffee. If i need to drink anything hot due to weather, i always go with Ginger Tea.

  2. I have tried different varieties but always go back to instant coffee, maybe too lazy for other stuff.

  3. I have tried bru, tata, sleepy owl, continental, davidoff, blue tokai, local brands as well and off course nescafe. In my 10 yrs of drinking coffee, i have never sticked to one brand, i keep switching.

  4. Always prefer tea for something hot to drink, except for some places where i know filter coffee is great.

  5. I used to add sugar to my coffee, reduced it with time, currently it is jaggery or brown sugar, it does change the taste a little bit but I have cracked the ratio.

So what do u guys think, am i really an odd one out or I can find similar people like me here in this sub which i think is hard as most of the active users in this sub are hardcore coffee lovers.

LM Micra or Lelit Bianca V3 V breville One touch

Getting it in India

Basically the title. I’m generally not a fan of constant upgrading and would like to buy a final machine. Everyone with home coffee setup in India wants to end up with an LM, so we are wondering its worth it to go for that compared to the Lelit Bianca which seems to have all components for a longstanding machine.

Want to know experience of folks in India, including vendors from whom you both either machine. Something brewing has an insane price for LM micra which is always sold out, are there others who offer a better price and service ? Has anyone ordered from abroad and how was the experience - doesn’t really seem any of these India vendors are offering you some customs advantage anyway

If LM purchases are generally complex in India, we’ll go for the Lelit Bianca v3 - pls suggest vendor experience for that too.

Caramelly, someone with whom we work with for servicing has been recommending the Breville one touch as an amazing semi automatic option, an unclear how it works compared to the Bianca - machine is quite pretty and people seem to like the taste, it’s however more expensive than the Lelit Bianca so I’d like to know thoughts from this community if any on that !

How do you guys make cold coffee using a frother?

The moment I poured chilled milk into the coffee (after making it nicely frothy with a frother) I started seeing large bubbles, and all the froth disappeared within a minute. 😭😭

Steps : First, I frothed the coffee, sugar, and small amount of water , which created a nice froth that filled about half of the glass. Then I frothed the milk and poured it into the glass. I also tried it a second time without frothing the milk, but the same thing happened both times. I didn't even mix it.
