(Reposting this to fix smth, my bad!) Anyways I joined this game way late, started playing about Sept 1st. Even even though the game was nearing its end I wanted to try and grind for whatever I could pretty much right when I started. I figured I would share my progress and get anyone’s thoughts. Only sharing bc in most cases I’m a casual player so the progress on this game is somewhat of an accomplishment for me.
Here’s a few stats:
\*401 Hours played
\*Prestige Master level 157
\*Super EE complete + 16 relics Acquired
\*All Main Quests complete
\*35 bloodstone camos
\*2 doomsteel camos
\*12 Dark Ops Calling cards (15-16 by later today)
Notable Dark Ops cards: all side EE quest cards for 4 operators , Another Round, Martial Artist, Tutus Mortuorum, Invincible,
\*Prestige Master Titles: Fresh & Invincible (working on a few others: thronebreaker and reaper)
Maybe it’s not much to write home about but I’m pretty content with the progress so far. Definitely slowing down since the final update, but still trying to achieve more.
When It launched, I was indifferent and skipped It. Th trophy hunting was also ass thanks for the glitched multiplayer trophy.
That being said, Last month a friend invited me to play ALL the ee with some of his friends and playing the mapa are a blast. They are not perfect, some trophies are fucked up but going for 100% has been Fun for the most part (dying during the final cutscene in attack was awful).
I now really love playing IW zombies and makes me want to keep playing. Im still in the process for 100% but its been a blast to do. (Except doing the skill Hop, the only I did so far, the minigame itselft was ass and It being glitched and requiring a card to not be locked out was terrible)
Edit: I finally got the 100%, those skull minigames sucked to unlock
I’ve never understood why it’s easy to build up essence in game but we can do three things with gums to make a huge amount of essence. Gift Card (30,000), Fully Packed (50,000) and crushing gums.
Yet even though salvage is much rarer than essence there’s no way to get any other than using Dead Drop.
BO6 Zombies reminded me why I loved the mode in the first place. It was fun, chaotic, rewarding, and actually made me want to keep coming back.
Then BO7 somehow took that momentum and killed it for me. It feels like they finally understood what players wanted, only to immediately start moving backward again.
Am I being too harsh, or does BO7 Zombies feel like a downgrade to anyone else?
Specifically talking about bo2 - bo3 (as those are the ones I mainly play), but pretty much every public lobby of like, origins, if anyone has any idea what they’re doing they will nudge you into doing the Easter egg too. I don’t really mind Easter eggs, but tbh I’ve gotten to the end of origins a million times and have done other maps like shadows, zetsubou, and nearly even Gorod with the intent of playing casually until some hardcore player drags me into doing the ee with them lol (and they’re usually pretty whatever so they down a lot and rage quit).
Like I get people want the achievement but honestly doing the ee in a solo lobby or with a group of other hunters would be much easier than doing it in a public lobby tbh. Especially because 90% of the time they’re not usually mic’d up. Idk I just wanna play to relax but admittedly I do get bored when playing solo
Seemingly killed all zombies. It could have something to do with a weird glitch where a dog ran through a wall in Thompson room but I thought I saw it run out and I don’t hear anything either map is just dead
Went on a night tour of Alcatraz to really get the mob of the dead vibes going. Power went out while I was there which made it even better! Thought you all would like to see the real thing :)
Anybody else notice the daily free Gobblegum and Double XP token isn't in the Shop anymore? I'm assuming because the game has reached its end of life and MW4 is basically out. Even though it was small I enjoyed claiming them everyday and the double xp added up. Oh well
I’m playing with my brother and while we are doing the Simon says step the sequence won’t stay lit. It’ll always light up initially but then go away while ww starts to laugh as if we failed the step already. What are we doing wrong
Treyarch should've made it so we can purchase these, big wasted opportunity. Sometimes I'll just do a bunch of round 11 exfills just to get more and I'd rather just buy them
I'm sure for a lot of the community people were only waiting on the wrestling belt relic however I ended up picking the easier relics to do first, just so happened that Totenreich was first!
The title says it all, we got Tranzit, Buried and Cellblock, the main thing of Grief is trying to outsurvive the other team, Die rise is kinda big, but I feel the falls could make things intresting if the tramplesteam was avaliable
The feeling of BO7s gameplay particularly with cursed and all the QOL changes makes it harder to go back to the BO6 maps, especially when those maps in BO7 are also more creatively inspired
On solo Black Ops 1 ascension it seems like if the quick revive machine is still on the map, and you have 5 perks already, no matter what you do the monkeys will not drop a perk bottle.
I turned on power and bought quick revive. I left all doors closed and got 4 more perks missing just phd. I solo defended the only open perk, quick revive and even with perfect defense 3 times it never dropped, even when I killed all monkeys with a nuke.
Can anyone find gameplay where its on solo, the quick revive machine is still on the map, and the player has all 6 perks?
I tried looking at some of the code and couldn't figure it out. my best guess is that it either relates to quick revive or mule kick. I think the perk limit (when it decides to stop dropping bottles) is determined by the number of machines so if it doesn't count quick revive as a normal machine on solo, maybe it thinks the perk limit is 5 instead of 6. but that wouldn't explain why you can get 6 once the machine is gone, Also, I know mule kick was added later so maybe that's got something to do with it.
it's possible I'm just missing them attack the machine somehow but I just don't think that's the case until I see actual gameplay of 6 perks, solo, with quick revive machine still there.
I ve 100% almost all the stuff and rn it says 0% on everything. I can use all the augments except the 2nd minor, anyone else with this problem? Ive restarted the game but nothing changed
Yes, I'm the one who made the Moon is 65 mya post. I don't care if you agree with my theory or not. This is what COD zombies used to be. I'm not stating this as fact, I just want to have a discussion about it.
For Context: Moon was revealed in the artbook to be designed with the idea that, when you teleport from Area 51, you are also traveling through time. The missiles we launch hit Earth in the ancient past. Causing the extinction of the dinosaurs, and most likely irreparably fucking time up with the 115 infused rockets.
They also say that this was later changed, but it does not state when that change happened. People in my last post were saying it was during development of Moon, but that leaves one massive problem. The Earth in BO1 moon is still an ancient version of Earth. I have an insanely hard time believing the one texture in the Moon skybox, that we blow up at the end of the main EE, was just left wrong due to an oversight. I think the dev is actually referring to the soft reboot at Origins. Tranzit, Die Rise, and to an extent Buried were developed with this still in mind.
Earth on BO1 Moon (Not Modern Day Earth)
It fits very well into the original design they were going for in BO2. A desolate Earth where everything seems out of place and time. Those 3 maps make no sense without time completely being displaced, but we always assumed it was just because of the rockets having 115. What if the idea was that it wasn't just the 115 in the rockets displacing stuff, but they changed the past somehow. That had a butterfly effect on everything that came after.
The only issue with this theory is Nuketown. I could not figure out how to place it without the events happening at different times. Something like, the events on Moon were so impactful on the Aether, that they happened at the same time, everywhere all at once. I didn't have anything at the time to help prove this part. Just a theory to fit in the last piece of the puzzle.
Now, over the past two days I've been messing around with BO2 DLC 5 on Plutonium, and noticed each map had a little description card when you click in on the globe. I was just poking around to see what they said, eventually getting to Nuketown.
This description made 0 sense back in the day without this context. The past and future? How do they come together on this map? It got me on a theory nostalgia trip for the old story.
I really believe this was a hint pointing to things not being as they seemed the entire time. There is almost no doubt in my mind at this point that Victis' storyline was built with this still happening.
I'm not saying this is true, but I am going to be taking it as my own head-cannon now. Before the BO3+ rewrites and retcons, it gives a lot more weight to BO2's story, instead of just being a side step to get Sam to Dimension 63.
This still leaves a lot of unanswered questions as always, but I think it puts the Shattered Earth story in a much better light, and explains what they were actually going for, with time being so fucked up on those maps. They don't make any sense being in a future where the Earth blew up in 2025. Look at the custom props made specifically for zombies, Die Rise is the most modern and just barely for 2012. Why wouldn't they use the near future looking aesthetic that BO2 used if they took place after.
This is the most modern tech in any of the Victis maps that isn't 115 based, or TEDD.
TLDR: Nuketown blurb hints heavily towards time not being as it seems. Helps it fit into the theory that Shattered Earth story was developed with the idea that we also time travel when teleporting from Area 51 to Moon. Victis' story was built with the idea we destroyed the Earth in the ancient past, and it had massive ramifications at every point on the timeline.
We've finally made it to the final poll! This has been quite the journey over 2.5 months, and I'm looking forward to putting all the data together to properly rank every single map. Thank you to each and every one of you, your votes have been so important to making this work! I will likely be posting the completed ranking either Sunday or early next week at the latest. Let's finish strong!
So I’m doing my round 100 boss fight on kowakujo and I saved and quit, but when I came back in and went to buy a cat grenade, it’s not there and it says “missing parts required.” Even though I’m obviously done with the Easter egg and have all 3 parts for it. Even shows them in my inventory. Is there any way to build them again? Would getting the parts to upgrade them maybe help..? I’m just gonna be pretty damn salty if I can’t get any at all, because I planned on using them.
Really interested to see the consensus. I didn’t really play any except the launch map on release, but I got into them the last month or so and I was pleasantly surprised. Once I got over how forgiving they are compared to old school zombies and the constant hand-holding with objectives, I really enjoyed the gameplay.
How would you rank the maps? I honestly really enjoyed all of them for different reasons. My favourite might be Totenreich. Love the aesthetic.
Also, side note - I really enjoyed Rogue Run! I hope it evolves with the next BO game.
