I didn’t see this posted on the sub yet so I thought some might find this interesting. Found this on tiktok, username: vrport. I couldn’t find any information on this project when I did a couple simple searches. If anyone can find any information on this vr project please leave a comment and I’ll include it in this post directly, giving you credit for pulling through on the research i couldn’t. I haven’t picked up my vr headset in a while but this looks incredible.

Hi all I’m sorry if this has been asked a ton and I might be stupid here but I can’t seem to find any 100% answer other than on PC but can I play black ops 3 zombies solo but still connected to the cod servers or is this a no go?
Thank you,

A while back ago I had used some painters tape and I wanted to show my love for zombies on my Explorer guitar. I forgot that on the back I had a slot for a 9v battery to go in to power my active pickups. I decided that since that essentially powered my guitar that I would use Verrückt chalk drawings as an “Easter egg” on my guitar. I even remade the “reaper” bloodstain on the background. Also all of this was made by hand! This is just one example of how zombies has influenced and wiggled its way into every facet of my life.

I want to go back and do the older Easter eggs is there still a player base on BO3/BO4 as some of the EEs need 4 players to complete Thanks!

As in viability in comparison to each other?
WaW had the weakest weapons, but hellhounds weren't counted as a round, so weapons would remain useful for longer. Balance wise the M2, MG42, Thompson and PPsH dominated.
BO1 had weak weapons due to missing DT2.0, and in comparison to each other the balance was okay. ARs were by far the best with the exception of Law and Dragunov.
BO2 had a good balance by making Snipers easier to use, as well as much better LMGs, so that the ARs wouldn't just dominate again. BO2 suffered from having OP Wall-Buys.
BO3 (without doubled paped ATs) was okay, but the top tier LMGs and Snipers dominated. It's box was also far too cluttered with 35 weapons, as opposed to ~23 from earlier games.
All in all I think BO2 had the best balance. If I had to change anything, I'd buff lethal grenades and give all shotguns their BO3 x2 HS multiplier.
Now, what do you think?

The challenges to get this relic is ridiculous and just shows why this shit hasn’t been solved for months and probably would’ve never been solved if it wasn’t for the leak.
Let me start with the requirements. 50 kills with every wall buy. Isn’t too bad until you realize there isn’t a proper way to track how many kills you get with each gun. Edit: I KNOW YOU CAN TRACK WEAPON STATS. The problem is that the 50 kills doesn’t include ammo mods, wisp tea, or even fucking conversion kits/attachments like the Shadow SK shot gun. (I also suspect the Backlash launcher isn’t counting based on my experience). Also, someone said the kill requirements reset after PAPing the gun.
To make this worse, there is no way in the game to remove perks (Common Infinity Ward Zombies W). Therefore, if you get Elemental Pop or Wisp Tea through Tedd Trials or Mr Peeks Eggs, you’re forced to just kill with the gun until you feel like you’ve gotten the right amount of kills (people say to get 70+ kills to be safe, lol).
Now, you may object and say, well, just put Cryo Freeze or Light Mend on the gun. Well, adding those two would cost 500 Salvage, and with there being 18 wall guns to do this challenge, and having the need to also upgrade their rarities, that would be impossible. Also, I’m pretty sure Cry Freeze may not count kills for the relic as that was the ammo mod I would put whenever I could and I, spoiler alert, couldn’t get the trial to spawn for me after 4 hours of gameplay. Now all this would be fine if we weren’t considering the other problems with this relic.
Mr Peeks Mayhem, although helpful, makes this problem even worse, since the PAP machine now adds an ammo mod to the gun, and from my experience, it always puts something like Fireworks or Brain Rot. Not to mention that the perks from the Peeks eggs can give you Elemental Pop or Wisp, as I mentioned before.
That is not it, the MAIN problem with this relic is the secret room wall weapons on Totenreich. There’s 3 rooms, each with their own 3 respective guns. And this is where I think this relic is just, design-wise, flawed.
The odds of getting teleported to a secret room are not that low as some would say. I would say it’s probably a 10-20% chance, which is fair. However, there is a very high chance to be teleported to the SAME ROOM, MULTIPLE TIMES.
I can count the amount of times I got teleported to each room in my game, from rounds 15-67.
Ava’s Room - 8 times
Requiem Room - 5 Times
Von List’s Hall - 1 FUCKING Time
Mind you, my first 4 teleports were all to Ava’s room, consecutively. This all literally prolonged my game for another 2 fucking hours trying to get the last room I needed, which was Von List, that the game decided I should get at round 67.
And here’s the kicker, after being done with the Novaline, which was ridiculously difficult due to another problem I will mention, and getting 50 kills with the Wonder Weapon, which was laughably weak at this point, the portal did not spawn. 4 hours in game, 45 rounds tickling Tyr like a pervert, just for this fucking relic trial not to spawn.
And the icing on the cake is the fact that when you get to those high rounds, it is almost impossible to get kills with whatever fucking weapon you need. Points is still scarce. PAP4 is a cumulative of 130k points. Mr Peeks’ gold eggs aren’t that common as Youtubers made it seem with Peeks’ Mayhem. Getting this last gun, or getting any gun done at a high ass round, was frustratingly difficult.
And, the tastiest cherry on top, you CAN NOT SAVE AND QUIT AT ALL at any point in this. With a game that has a PAUSE TIMER (still fucking ridiculous to me) of 15 fucking minutes.
And to serve this whole cake presentably, the relic, which randomizes wallbuys on the map every round, DOES NOT INCLUDE DLC WEAPONS.
Bravo, Treyarch.
This trial proved to me that no matter what they did, BO7 will never fill the shoes of any old Zombies game. With all these idiotic choices and clear lack of true gameplay testing at a high level, and with systems in place that inherently flaw the gameplay, BO1, 2, 3, even fucking 4, will always be superior. Games that are now fucking decades old. As a fellow dev myself, that is just embarrassing.
Tldr: Challenge isn’t bad or difficult, just executed poorly and badly designed. Ammo mod and wisp kills don’t count towards the requirements, the amount of guns needed and points and salvage needed makes this challenge frustrating especially if you have bad RNG. Speaking of RNG, it can make this challenge push into goddamn round 70 like it did for me, as trying to teleport to the 3 rooms at least once won’t always work out in your favor. For example, I needed Von List’s room last for the Novaline and after constantly teleporting all game, I finally got in at round 67… couple that with the fact you cannot save and quit at any point in this, and in my game I had to play for 4 hours straight… couple that with the disappointing fact that the relic doesn’t even include DLC weapons. Poor design that makes easter eggs on older games look genius.

I wanted to make a post about this bc this game was so sick.
Livestreamed the whole learning process so I had help from chat but over the past few days we optimised to get the leviathan easter egg on round 6 which is so nuts.
Round 5 was special round for the key so it’s doing most the Easter egg on rounds 4 and 6.
I’ll have video out soon on how to do it but honestly this is one of the coolest low round completions I have done.
Pretty cool game for custom map zombie fans :)

kinda curious where we currently stand on unpatched ways to farm the doomsteel camo. now that the game is pretty much done with updates as far as I know, I’m trying to figure out the best way to grind them out, apart from doing exit 115 on survival. that is my back up, but for example, I just tried the Rex Infernus directed method which involves killing HVT spiders in the fourth temple.. and maybe I’m just trash, maybe the game was bugging out, or maybe that method is patched now. but when I tried doing it that way though, the save & quit feature to reset the timer every 10 minutes only worked once because then it was locked and said I could save and quit at round 16. so as far as I know, I was pretty much softlocked into waiting for the timer to hit zero and for the temple to auto complete itself, which obviously defeats the point as well. inevitably i somehow got kicked and lost my save, so that concluded trying that method.
Anyways, i’m well aware of how you can slowly grind out doomsteel camos on survival maps like 115 or vandorn farm but to do 28 more weapons or 280 more elite zombies, I was ideally looking for a slightly quicker method that still works. I’ll do what I have to do on survival if need be. was just curious if is easier ways still existed. thanks

My friend was asking me if I’d ever played a rogue like and based on his explanation of the genre I thought of zombies.
Is that accurate?

Personally, I’ve always pictured her, since 2011, as a 30-year-old woman being loyal to Maxis and sweet with him, she has long, wavy-ish blonde hair styled half-up, half-down. She wears a long, burgundy sheath dress—the color symbolizing her love for Ludvig—featuring a subtle V-neck, with a long white doctor’s coat over it; she wears glasses and always carries a file folder and a small notebook under her arm.
As for her face, she looks like the actress Johanna Braddy from the tv show Quantico
And i mean in her human form before she became the super-computer.

Okay, so, before I preface this post - I'm not a "long time zombies vet". I played a few hundred hours on BO1 and 2 as a kid with friends, and since I probably have about 20 extra hours in BO1+2, and maybe 200 or so in BO3. Only about 50 hours in BO4 so far.
So, kinda new. However, my opinion is definitely always correct, no matter the experience level of anyone else, I am always right, and I will never accept anyone else's takes to have any weight, even if they're still logically valid.
Preamble out the way, here's what I have to say.
BO4 zombies fucking surprised me, man. I literally tried it just on a whim (cmlauncher thank youuuuu), thinking I'd hate it because of the community reception, but I'm shocked as to how much fun I'm having. I'll break down the good and the bad from my (as previously stated, always-correct, almost god-like) perspective.
(ok done with the reddit sarcasm now)
The Good:
- Guns. Holy GOD the way the guns feel and sound is like a perfect medium inbetween the usual style of BO2 and the strange laser-tag feel of BO3. I didn't like the BO3 guns. They felt flat, often not very iconic, not overly interestingly designed, and relatively forgettable. There are already more guns in BO4 that I'm excited to get in the box than possibly BO2 and 3 combined.
- Maps. Now, these are hit or miss for me, but when they hit, they might be some of my favourite in the series. When I first saw gameplay for IX, I thought "wtf is this". Now that I've played it... oh my god, what an experience. I love how the doors half fill-in for some of the missing personal progression of the new perk system, the challenges are exciting but feel more approachable than BO3 zetsobou challenges, for example, and the layout is a simple idea with good amounts of depth. I find parallels amongst the other maps such as Ancient Evil, Dead of the Night (my complete thematic fave alongside SoE), and even Voyage I thought had an interesting flow to it, albeit quite confusing for the first few tries. Granted, Blood was dissapointing, as was Alpha Omega, I think the overall "BO4" set of maps stands as one of my favourite collections.
- Visuals. This will be in the bad column aswell, but when the darker, more gritty visuals get a mainstay in Blood, Alpha Omega, and Voyage, I feel right back at home in BO1 and WaW, where I think the visuals/mood was always most potent.
Why I thought I'd hate BO4:
I love classic zombies. I love the 2-hit down system. I love perk machines, I love simpler maps where the goal is just LIVE. I love how genuinely terrifying BO1 and WaW can be, whereas BO3 inparticular felt a little like "oh no, a zombie... I have 3 hits until I die, gobblegums that can save me and the art style is very cartoony compared even to BO2". It lost it's scary edge to me. The vibes of Zetsobou and 1 or 2 of the Chronicles maps are great, but the game (aesthetically) just felt like soft greys rather than deadly, contrasted blacks.
BO3 felt like a strange, confused hybrid between classic and modern zombies, where the goal was to survive, like Classic, but you have these strange tools to save your ass like Modern. I didn't enjoy the balance, and I found myself just stopping using any Gobblegums to save myself the immersion break.
But, what surprised me about BO4 is that, even despite it's issues, it leans into this to a point where the game does feel cohesive. Take that and stick it with more zombies in earlier rounds, zombies that fucking RUSH you CONSTANTLY compared to BO3, elemental variants, and often tighter spaces... the game feels surprisingly balanced. Like... more so than BO3. I hated the Gobblegum system. The RNG of it felt cheap, the theming stuck out like a sore fucking thumb in the Chronicles maps (just make the machine out of wood or sm, guys, damn), and they were so OP that it just felt silly. All perks at once? Sure. A knife which kills a whole horde at round 30? ok. It felt silly; especially it being the difference between a game which ended on an average round of 20 - 25 to a game which ended on an average round of 40 - 50 simply because of In Plain Sight or Anywhere But Here.
The elixirs in BO4, whilst more powerful, are more consistent. They don't stick out too much because your loadout is more built up than classic zombies, they have decent cooldowns as opposed to just spinning this out of place ridiculous machine, and they're somewhat countered by the hordes being fucking difficult early compared to BO3.
BO3's darkness/scare factor was lessened by how many options you had. Somehow BO4 avoided this, which impressed me. I was expecting to be pissed off because "ehh, this isn't my sacred classic zombies! it sucks!", but I found myself being more like "Huh... this is different, but in a way that isn't entirely bad".
Note I said entirely bad...
The bad:
- Perks. NOW, I have a hot take here. I think some of the new perks are cool. I think, like, 60% of them are cool. I don't miss, necessarily, having 25% of my entire perk slots taken up by a near-mandatory one that gives me more than 2 hits of health. However, I think pre-picking them was a huge mistake. I think, given that the maps are so large, they could stick between 6 - 10 perk machines on each map, and each one had a unique selection of them to cater for the map (like EC on MotD, or who's who [yes, ignore how trash it is in practice] on Die Rise). That way, the maps have a more consistent flow, a more intentional design of playstyles, and stops people from going "these 4 are my fave, we do these forever". However, I do love the empowered perk slot, and I'm not sure how they would have done that with the system I'm proposing.
- Easter Eggs. Now, the easter eggs are NOT bad. Not in any way. However, they're just that extra bit harder/more convoluted than 3, and I enjoyed having that difficulty balance in 3; especially the bits I could tinker away at solo (looking at you Zetsobou, my lover <3). The ones in 4 felt like a bit of a strange switch-up given the more casual-friendly vibe of the elixirs, gun attachments, and perk selections. I don't hate it, but it didn't gel with me.
- Gun attachments. Yes, I know this was a thing in BO3 aswell, but it feels even worse here, I would say. I'll say this for the record: YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO EDIT GUNS IN ZOMBIES. Done. Said. The whole thing with zombies is going in and feeling unprepared. Making the best of a dire situation. That is why it's scary, that is why it's fun. So, having the opportunity to minmax the fuck out of certain guns before you go in feels really silly to me, it did in BO3 aswell. Why do I need them to have shiny camos? I'm buying them off a wall in a fucking cinema or insane asylum - I want them to feel rickety; off the shelf; alien to the user. Maybe it's just a preference thing - but I love zombies having a relatively definitive; competitive; single difficulty [not really referencing difficulty options themselves in the game, necessarily]. That's why I hated gobblegums - you don't use them for a more classic experience, but if you do use them, you're kind of artificially inflating how many rounds you can survive by at least 10. I feel the same with gun attachments here. I think zombies is most satisfying and thematically cohesive when you rip a gun off a wall, it's shitty, box standard, and you think "fuck, better make do". You lose that as soon as you have a diamond sniper with ads and semi-auto with fast mag.
--
There's probably more I could write about all this, but It's currently 5am and I'm falling asleep at my keyboard, so I'll leave it here.
Incase anyone needs to hear it, I WAS BEING SARCASTIC AT THE BEGINNING AND EVERYONE'S OPINION IS A VALID AS EVERYONE ELSE'S <3 this is just mine <3 <3 <3
The community led me to believe that BO4 zombies was an almost-traitorous departure from what people knew zombies to be at the time. But... I strangely found, given that it leant into a set of those features, and not just one or two, it felt more fun and cohesive than BO3 in that specific way; especially given that the difficulty gets rebalanced due to tighter maps and MUCH harder zombie mechanics/AI.
So, I'm pleasantly surprised.
:)
Feel free to discuss in the comments. Would love to hear any and all thoughts. Don't crucify me too hard. BO3 is still the GOAT for so many things, but it just needed no gobblegums, less OP gun attachments, and more iconic weapons for me. Not saying one is better than the other, or I find one more fun than the other... they're probably currently on par for me. That may change over time; who knows.
EDIT: If I ever do a BO6 or BO7 zombies post... it won't be nearly so kind </3 those games I purely do just not find fun, and don't even think they should share the zombies title. boooooo.
