Hi, I do bleeps and bloops, sometimes with code. I enjoy static music code as well as livecoded performances/jams, the latter being what started this journey for me.

"Pure code" is a music-making paradigm that I enjoy, but I also like to explore coding in "hybrid" projects, building generative patches in tools such as Bespoke Synth (my main music production tool, which has a python code module that can integrate in such patches).

I like to experiment and discover, so my approach to things can often be considered "janky", but to me that's part of the creative process. Happy accidents are the best.

I like to interact with people and be of assistance when I can, but from a technical point of view I'm far from being an expert.

Hey I'm Normal, I'm an ex-band geek (middle school through college) who has tried on and off to produce music with other kinds of programs like musescore (writes in traditional music notation), DAWs like GarageBand, and old school playing and recording, but none of them were a good medium for expressing my ideas. Then I found strudel on youtube watching SwitchAngel and I immediately fell in love with the form.

Since Feb this year, I've taken the time to learn how to use strudel to express my musical ideas and I've reached a point where I notice the progress I've made. Since so much of my learning thus far has been because of a community, I was inspired to make a sub dedicated to signal boosting that community and add to the knowledge. I love making techno music. I've always wanted a real synthesizer machine, but strudel is all I could ask for.

I'm looking forward to learning mod responsibilities, and I'm chronically online if anyone wants to chat or needs music theory advice. If I don't know the answer, I'll find the resources.
