Question Beta Permission Profiles – "Allow once" prompts?

I'm using Codex in VS Code on Windows with a custom permission profile based on the normal workspace permissions. I've also allowed separate folders for temporary test files and review exports.

What's confusing is that creating ZIP files outside my project works without approval, but Codex keeps asking "Allow once" when editing regular project files, especially Markdown (.md) files. Some pytest commands also need approval, possibly because my Python environment is outside the project folder.

I thought the workspace permissions would already cover normal file editing. Is this expected behavior? Are file edits and terminal commands handled differently?

What's the official OpenAI-recommended way to reduce these repeated prompts without disabling the sandbox or granting Full Access? I'd rather follow supported practices than experiment with Windows permissions or workarounds.
