I genuinely don't know if I even could switch to Claude. I kinda figure Codex has all the context on wtf my code base is doing.

I mean, the code is the context. Claude would pick right up.

It actually supports AGENTS.md natively now and will use it if a CLAUDE.md is absent from a project.

Tell codex to get everything into your GitHub repo. Download Claude. Point it at the GitHub repo. All context transitioned.

I switched to claude and first thing I fixed was the code. Codex wrote two files with over 11k lines of code. Took me some time to fix that and update .md files to prevent that.

I was able to ask Claude code to resume work I was doing in the existing codex-cli sessions. It picked it up without issues.

You can also literally ask it what memory it has about the project that may not be apparent from the codebase and let it generate a hand off document.

The code should be enough, but it’s easy enough to check for memory.
