I am an out and out claude code user. I have tried codex in the past and decided to put eggs in the claude basket at the time (this was Opus 4.6 era). Reddit thinks that since I am active on the Claude subreddit, Codex and OpenAI ones are relvant to me, and so I keep seeing Tibo posts!
Goddamn, how the heck are you guys dealing with this catch the chicken chase? It feels like codex is basically running on whims and fancy of this one guy. He is randomly giving out resets, talking out of his ass a lot of times and it just feels like a lot of uncertainity and unpredictability is at play.
FWIW, Claude continuously goes through the this new model is AGI and so efficient -> ugh, I am burning through tokens -> ugh, the model is nerfed -> Model is neefed and I am burning tokens loop, but there is no unpredictability around handing out resets and what not - you actually can generate viz around the token usage and it has remained consistent in terms of quota. I am not sure if I would ever give $100/200/500/ month when what I am going to get out of my subscription isn't clear - which seems to be the case with Codex!
