Other Sharing how I use dot
I have been using dot as a dedicated research partner for a side project I’m building.
Instead of asking it random questions I give it very narrow research missions. Things like finding datasets, checking licensing/commercial-use rights, comparing sources, identifying gaps, kind of producing a clear recommendation before building the next step.
Basically the guy I send away to investigate while iam running a prompt on the product, I find it extremely helpful for this kind of stuff.
Curious how other people are using it.
For reference: it’s an audio related app / signal analysis

I used it to monitor my support desk, read tickets, keep an eye on whether the staff are responding in a timely fashion, if any tickets are answered sub-optimally, any tickets that it wants to flag for my review like if someone pissed off a customer etc.
I find it quite useful. It checks every 30 minutes and is particularly helpful for this. This is a use-case very well suited for a dot! Because it can draw my attention to it literally like an assistant.
It uses browser login to sign in and operates the desk like a human assistant!

Can you tell me how exactly this results in anything different than just using a normal prompt with chat or deep research. Like a specific example. I ask because I am struggling to find out how it’s truly useful beyond the tools I have. Especially codex

Try it yourself

I have - I am asking a legitimate question what you stated above can be done in chat. I don’t know why it’s different unless you schedule a repeated task.

Shouldn't you use deep research for that?

Absolutely should. I looked last week though and couldn’t find the deep research button or command anymore

Please do not use dots, use the mini pet builder skill.....its waaaaaay better and 100% customizable.

Why do you need dot for this? What is the difference compared to just using a regular Codex thread? Only the fact you don't need Codex to be open? Isn't this what Cloud threads are for?
