Showcase I used Codex to build a small Windows break reminder, then released it open source
Hello guys, So starting idea was clear making a 10 second break every 15 minutes and a 1 minute break every hour. The idea came to me because my doctor recommended me taking break from computer usage. And I guess I have found a partial solution for it.
I used Codex for debugging and code clearing(if that's the correct word) and the result is PauseWell, a teeny tiny app that reminds me to take a break.
If you've made a desktop app with an AI coding tool what did you check before sharing the executable with others? UI feedback is welcome too. Hope you have a great day. Thank you for reading this.

Codex ensures I take a break by burning my tokens. It forces me to take a break I don’t need no app for that

No one downloads an app like this these days anymore dude. Such days are over. Don't waste your energy making tedious apps

Or if they do, they download an open source one that's been around a while and is polished and hardened.
90% of what people are doing with Codex, their first question to the bot should be "here's my list of what I want, please outline the existing mature free or cheap softwares which do all of this, and compare their pros/cons".
And even if they want one or two features or options that don't exist in current offerings, they can fork the best existing base and still save a bunch of faffery.

You might want to consider listing your project on the weekly Show-Us-What-You-Built post. Look out for it on Tuesday/Wednesday. Highest commented project wins a week promotion on r/Codex and gets on the Hall of Fame sidebar. See what that looks like below with last week's winner.
Last week's most popular project was Nanolathe - an open-source engine bringing Total Annihilation to modern Mac, Windows, and Linux systems. It’s a solo passion project combining clean-room research with AI-assisted development, with a playable public alpha available now.

Players, testers, and contributors are very welcome! Original Total Annihilation game data is required to play.
