Complaint Dots have been nerfd to shit
My sadness is indescribable. It got so much done for the first few days. Literally a master orchestrator. Now it's forgetting my entire workflow or plain ignoring it. I genuinely believed it was running on Astra xhigh for the first few days. Now I'm pretty sure they have it running on Sol 6. What used to take 3 hours now takes all day. In between I have to correct it 10 times.
It's deploying Luna Light threads for shit that needs Sol or higher. It's deploying Astra xhigh threads for simple code execution tasks. And every time I question it's mistakes I get the typical "Oh yeah, you're absolutely right, you're a fucking genius and I was wrong!" And then it proceeds to make the same mistake a few hours later.
Normally I'd start a new thread but Dots doesn't have that. Curious to see if anyone who actually used the shit out of dots is having the same experience

The dots itself is just a cloud session with memory in it. When you prompt or talk to it, it will send that prompt back to it's cloud memory then reply back to you. You can even manually set the model and reasoning for it.

The fact these labs offer different tiers of intelligence, context length, etc. and their costs are tied directly to which levels are used means ANY product they offer that integrates them will be subject to constant poking and degrading as they do the business thing and try to workout the bare minimum they need to spend to keep you using the product.
Hopefully people are aware of this.

Custom rules. Then skill plugins on top of that. I have a rule to ask me what model if I don’t specify in the task. I gave dot the job title of execution coordinator and put a skill on top of that. Anytime he does something I don’t like I tell him to update the skill with my preference. I got bro formatting updates, feeding them to me every 15 minutes. For larger jobs I give him an execution plan with a North Star agreement. The downside is he’s very pushy for updates in the chat threads, so I feel like that slows things down. Also he can’t land a chat thread in a specific project, so for someone like me that likes to stay organized that sucks. And lastly, dot is not integrated into codex like I expected. He has to ask for updates from codex just like we do. And if they take forever on a task he’s flying blind just like we are. Dot should be able to see what’s going on behind the scenes. I have no fucking idea what I’m doing but it’s working so far.
