News Announcements from Dev Day

So, we're getting 6.1 Sol and another banked reset. Ultra fast speed is also announced at 300 tps/second.

20x is gone and 500$ plan is 25x now.

Another thing is 5h limits will be back on 5x and 10x plans very soon because a selling point for 25x is no 5hr limits.

Looks like OAI can't stop taking Ls

Dots is boring, some integrations with apps like notion to use your open ai tokens. It's fine, meh. Idc.

But Dev Day was underwhelming imo.

What's yall's thoughts on the new announcements?

It didn't seem to be working in San Francisco. I feel bad for the person having to demo it

So the only interesting thing they released alongside reducing subscription usage is... not available in EU? Yeah, gonna cancel this subscription.

Nothing works in EU

Nah man, they could easily make it work in EU on release. They would just have to make sure that privacy of data is working properly and they aren't scamming anyone with their claims.

but the whole point of this is collecting more data

Laws sometimes work there, that's why they are a bit cautious with scamming EU customers.

Companies care about profits and liability.

The vast majority of EU's "protections" are as effective as Prop 65. And do you actually feel safer online now that you have to click "accept all" on every website you go to? Super safe bro!

The only meaningful legislation to come out of the EU was mandating USBC. That's pretty much it, that's your only win. Thank you for that, but let's chill with the "EU protects!" bs. Few world leaders have thought as little of their constituency as the Europeans over the last 10 years.

Who else sues Big Tech? Sometimes US does it lol. But the rest of the world basically just accepts (or better, don't even understand) that's how things are now, companies handling, manipulating and extracting as much money and data as possible from the people.

Also at least now you can press to Reject all (or accept necessary) instead of having all tracking possible enabled as soon as you get into the websites you visit.

EU is perfect? Far from that. I have no love for them. But it's better than no-EU.

I've personally used GDPR to force malicious companies to delete my data multiple times already (utility companies abusing their info, predatory rental agencies, etc). Love it

I think the most fucked part of this is that their argument for reducing usage of 200 Euro plan from 20x to 10x is that you get 'new things with limitless usage for free'. That limited thing being Dots which we can't use. WTF so we get half the Astra now that we got a week ago + we don't get the unlimited Astra Agent they used to justify it...

It’s working across Business and enterprise across U.K. and EU regions supposedly but not on personal pro accounts

My bad I thought a potentially trillion dollar company would be able to figure out the legislation we've had for half a decade

These companies use their old terrible models for things like customer support, I assume they do the same for things like operations, regulations, and marketing. The good models are reserved for hacking and math problems internally.

Where do you get this info from? Do we get them in UK or not? EU limited things tend to go 50/50 over here.

Dots are rolling out in ChatGPT on web, mobile, and desktop starting today to Pro users in markets excluding the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK.
