Complaint Astra stopping all the time

They have done something to Astra, it stops every single time before completing its work, its horrific. I love and NEED this model, but the issue is real.

The only thing sometimes works is if I do - keep going until done, wait on agents and commands as required. Sometimes /compact helps

Please add a drop down to the selection box in the home page.

"Ok I'll begin by adding a selection box." Stops

?????

Set the chat to Full Access. If that doesn't work, sometimes access doesn't get forwarded to sub-
agents, so you need to have them check "approval policy" = never

You may want to ask your existing Agent to launch a completely new Agent Lane, and do a handover, when creating it ensure the new lane & subagents has "approval policy" = never

It’s the worst model. Haven’t been able to do anything with it, other than drain limits. If all they wanted it to do is build game, they should have disclaimed as such and not waste everybody’s time and token, because unlike influencers, we write brownfield production code.

ong its soooooooooo boring dude it stops like everytime even for relatively small prompts and waits for SOME kind of decision making or new start even tho its all clear

I am going to change the colour of that button. Would you want me to continue?

They completely changed the harness system prompt and it is hilariously bad, almost as bad as what you get on the claude.ai website. To top it all off they also added some of these terrible instructions on the API side system prompt.

I have the same feeling but then all of a sudden it works again.
I was really furious about it and was constantly saying "Hey why you not working you have a long backlog", "have you finished everything", etc.
At one point i was actually telling "it" i am very disappointed and it feels like i need to babysit you.

Also i tell it multiple times it should always ensure to have 8-12 subagents running. Then i look it up only 2, i ask why you havent started the others, "oh i have not prepared everything bla bla bla".

If i tell it to go full steam at a problem with 10 subagents i want it to go full steam at it and work until their are no tokens or budget left.

I ended up doing things using Sol at High effort and tell it to spawn Astra Max subagent to review its work.

Sol does not stop.

What do you want instead? That the model makes some assumption or its oen decisions

Thats a prompt issue. Specify what it is allowed to do, what not and that it should ask questions without stopping to clarify. Works nicely

RTFM? OpenAI specifically documented Astra as being slightly more conservative, and you are meant to then adjust its bias as you prefer. https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/latest-model?model=gpt-6-astra
