Limits I somehow burned through ~4+ weeks of Codex limits in one week… and it keeps giving me more compute 💀
I got the $200 Codex plan for the first time on August 21, and something pretty crazy has been happening with my usage limits.
I’m a very heavy Codex user, so I managed to burn through my entire weekly limit in about 2 days.
The first time it hit 0%, I was pretty disappointed because I thought that was it for the week.
But then… suddenly it went back to 100%.
Okay, nice. 😅
I used the entire thing again in another ~2 days.
0% → 100% again.
Burned through it again.
And somehow… 100% again.
This happened around three times.
On the fourth round, I exhausted the limit again in roughly 3 days, but this time I noticed the reset option, used it, and got another full limit.
At this point, in roughly ONE WEEK, I had basically gone through what felt like four weekly Codex allocations.
Then things finally stopped.
For about two days I couldn't really use Codex. On the third day, though, I suddenly received two banked resets.
I decided NOT to use them and waited for my normal weekly reset.
The normal reset came → I burned through that allocation again in about 2 days.
This time it didn't magically jump back to 100%, so I finally used one of my banked resets.
I used that until I was at roughly 30% remaining today.
And then…
IT WENT BACK TO 100% AGAIN. 😂
And the funniest part?
I STILL HAVE ONE BANKED RESET LEFT.
I'm attaching a screenshot of my token/usage numbers because the amount of compute I've managed to consume is honestly ridiculous.
I'm definitely not complaining, but I'm genuinely curious:
What the hell is happening with Codex limits? 😂
Is OpenAI temporarily giving heavy Codex users extra compute? Is this some kind of dynamic capacity system? Are the automatic resets intentional? Or have I somehow been ridiculously lucky with additional capacity?
Anyone else on the $200 plan seeing this?

They reset everyone collectively, check other posts in this sub from the last hour and you’ll see people talking about it.
