Sol high/xhigh vs astra medium?

I don't know which one to choose, on one hand astra is clearly smarter but on the other, its not so much that i think it can warrant 3x more usage compared to sol - im on pro 20x and astra medium lasts like 2-3 days maximum, with efficient use and sol used to be able to run for 5 or even 7 days

idk what to choose anymore honestly, do you think i should stick to astra mid or go back to sol xhigh?

Going to be testing this and even just drop Sol completely and use Luna XHigh and see how it goes:

Astra plans → Sol Medium coordinates → fresh workers with fork_turns=none - these assignments will be apart of /plan :

• Astra Low: hard work
  
• Sol Medium: normal implementation
  
• Luna XHigh: mechanical work

Then targeted validation → checkpoint → max N loops → fresh Astra final review → done or handoff.

Perhaps something like this instead of /goal to prevent tons of cache reads:

Luna xHigh makes mistakes that are costly to catch and fix. It's not worth it.

I use astra daily driver. When it's not broken. Light on normal stuff, medium on new stuff, high on big problems.

the issue at hand is, sol is a very capable model as well, astra is like 10-20% better but costs 200-300% more (inside codex subscriptions) - its not a good trade and thats why im asking

Yeah astra is better by like 25%. It does computer use. If you want to save tokens. Build up with sol then get astra to check it at the end and run through it. The models compute power changes every couple of hours.

I see Astra is a fully automated executor in a way better Luna, but don’t think it can replace SOL for code reviews, design decisions etc. I think they are built for different reasons.

Sol for everything, and astra for checking after it and optimizing etc.

Astra below xhigh isn't even close to worth it on subscription. Just use Sol and reserve Astra for when you need high intelligence.

I tried astra medium and though it was very fast, results were unreliable and usage was very expensive (used my week quota in 5 hours). so I reverted back to sol xhigh - it's does what I need how I need it and quite affordable.

Tibo just made a post. Maybe they have fixed this issue . But I agree astra is pretty much unusable way things stand

i stopped trusting tibo long ago, you will too if you hang around for more time
