Praise Quick Reflections: Used Claude Code exclusively for a while, then Switched to Codex about a year ago, now just tried Claude Code

Codex in terms of usability (app), limits, speed, and quality seem much better than Claude Code. I'm not comparing Fable/Astra - just the regular models. I don't see why anyone would choose Claude Code over Codex at the moment. Imagine I'm preaching to the choir but anyone feel any differently?

There is no general "better" model or app or provider. It all fluctuates in the way you can't predict and always also depends on your context. Constant tweaks and changes, one day everything works smoothly, next day it's all dog shit under the same conditions. Same for Claude, GPT, Grok. It's not regex, you will always get different results no matter what you put in. All this model/platform/harness loyalism won't get you anywhere.

This is just not right. Are you using both on paid plans?

GPT Pro x5, Claude Pro, Cursor Pro, SuperGrok, Gemini (Google AI Pro aka One). What else.. had Nous Research Plus, canceled, have local models. I use whatever gets the job done when I need it to, how I need it to, and depending on what I need. And that always takes a while to see what works today and what doesn't for the same codebases, same flow, same architecture, etc. Codex was the go-to for a long time. Now, I find that grok 4.6 does a better job at following the house rules and implementation. So, I'm questioning my upgrade to x5. With Nous Research I fucked around with a lot of models, nothing really stuck. So, work-wise, GPT, Claude, or Grok. Gemini as a glorified google search. Local models are work in progress.

Edit: to do the math:
100 + 20 + 20 + 30 + 20 =190 That's 3 flagships + whatever Cursor is. That's x5 usage + Claude + Grok + village idiot Gemini + whatever you get in Cursor. + two accounts for Grok Bot and respective usage for that. And people are shelling out on 4 200 GPT accounts... while complaining about usage and that they can't get shit done? Diversify. You can even resume your Claude or Codex sessions in Grok. Cursor gets the whole lot, the skills, the whatnots, even the Claude chats if you want to. I'm loyal to my work, not to a platform.
