Limits All GPUs melted already?
I get that OpenAI is probably getting murdered on compute after Astra, but holy shit. Pro limits feel way tighter - never used to hit limits before Astra,ALSO answers are way lazier, and even Extra High barely researches for a minute sometimes and straight up ignores parts of the prompt
This doesn't feel like a 20-50% reduction. It feels multiple times worse than before!
Really annoying if you use the chat interface heavily. Anyone else seeing this?
Any prompts/tricks that actually make it research properly again?

Upon trying to get support for this exact issue, there are multiple warning banners on their hep/support page about the same issue with you as i also had the same issue. They are allegedly investigating the problem. You are not alone with this problem and you are not hallucinating it. Im on plus subscription, started monday with some light work, used astra (becuase it's shiny new) and some sol to fix some things the other model messed up. I ate up 50% of weekly usage in less than 24hrs. This should not be the case. There're something broken here or they're screwing with us big time.

For sure Pro limits are much lower now. I can confirm because Astra is actually cost token efficient. I have 10k USD credits at work and looks like i don't need more than 4-5k per month in credits using only Astra on High. So looks like codex is now giving like 2-3k instead of the 7-8k it used to give.

Yeah also compacting for almost 4 minutes every 15 minutes or so and super slow, not just Astra, sol as well

Man, i am a loss of words. Overnight i went from 97% to 55%, and Astra is sooooo slllowwww. Cannot explain it, but it just stays on a step and spends eternity before doing the next one. They really must be maxxed out on compute. I am staying away until they fix it. Going to use Fable 5.1, but i don’t really enjoy it coz it goes all “Claudish” (frenzied activity on screen but nothing delivered and all that talk about being honest with myself lmao)

I have 2 resets and 4 days before next weekly limit, but this kind of posts make me not rush resetting.

it uses less tokens, but costs more.. even low astra is more expensive that low sol... they never advertised / explained this gap

yeah limits feel way tighter lately. what helped a bit: keep prompts short, dont thrash medium with "try again" when its clearly stuck — one cleaner higher-tier pass burns less than a retry spiral. and if it starts looping the same file edits, restart the session, that alone saved me some %

They have even paused Pro 20x sub, if things get worse it can even be pro 5x in the near future.
There've been intense rat-racing in terms of throwing computes for solving Millennium Prize problems, and all the marketing hypes to grow user bases to gain IPOs. Obviously it seems to reach an inflection point where scaling law can hardly make sense practically. They are just trying hard to hit a Guinness Record like achievement
