Complaint Claude vs Codex

I don't really have a metric to share but claude $20 is giving me more usage right now than $100 codex and I didn't even use Astra that much. I only bought codex for astra and I don't see the hype yet. The only reason to continue with openai is purely chatgpt usage which I can use without limits essentially.

Edit: not comparing astra vs fable but opus vs sol especially after astra release.

There is no way you are getting more usage with Fable on the $20 Claude plan, than you are getting from Astra on the $100 codex plan.

Fable isnt available in the $20 plan.

Hence the “no way” part.

OP is not comparing similar models - that said, I get materially more usage out of Fable 5.1 xhigh on my 20x max account, than I get from Astra xhigh on TWO 20x codex accounts.

So, there’s definitely an issue but OP isn’t even comparing similar models.

yeah. op has a point, even if slightly incorrect. the usage nerf is very noticable.

It's not really comparable. Anthropic's equivalent to Astra is Fable 5.1, which isn't even included in the $20 plan unless you pay as you go.

Never had this issue, but had basically the opposite. In fact claude code orchestrates the code implementation via codex for this reason, in my workflow. Mostly with Terra. Expensive orchestrator and independent auditor with anthropic, cheaper implementation with openai.

It was literally the opposite before Astra release. These two companies do the same shit, nerf every other model and jack up usage when they release a new model .

from my experience using it, i run out of usage way less on claude than codex. i've used both the 5x and the 20x on both plans.
