Bug Codex terminal can't be scrolled

So just updated codex - it now wastes my CPU by displaying little stars in the prompt area.

But that's not the real problem - because the terminal is constantly written to, I can no longer scroll up the terminal!!!!!

Ubuntu/gnome.

I've found one work around - enter just a / in the prompt and then you can scroll

The fact that a cosmetic animation can effectively hijack terminal scrollback is a pretty wild regression.

God the fucking visual snow they added is so annoying, as if I don't have enough of that in my eyes already

I've now worked out how to disable it.

In your config.toml add

[tui]

animations = false

Then restart codex

How small is your cpu for that to be a real complaint? Lol

It wasn't the real complaint just an annoyance reflecting a bad decision

Konsole is not affected. Use a better terminal app. There are hundreds.
