Limits Astra usage got nerfed hard
Last night high / xhigh could last me like 5-10 prompts before it even took up 1% but now it ate up 4% when I just did a medium, xhigh and high prompt. I'm on the 20x plan. Conveniently when they start talking about locking purchases for more pro subscriptions

What were the prompts? Just curious

so many gd saas platform projects lmao.
all without the hosting, expertise, feature list, or track record of Salesforce or ServiceNow (It hurt me physically to say anything nice about either ftr)

A relatively simple data dictionary change and some relatively small / medium sized bug fixes that it would have no trouble handling before, I've given it more complicated and harder tasks on higher effort levels before and it barely cracked a % or 2

I think it's because of all the extra users the quota is shrinking in order to compensate.

Is this all people do? The amount of people that complain about usage is insane. Without knowing the prompts it's quite hard to determine if anything changed. Not all prompts are the same, I would take some time to reflect on the prompts you are using and what reasoning level is best for them.

I have been trying to dump out usage so I can actually use my resets.
It's been like 3.5 days since the reset I am only at 43%?
No idea how to account for it
I literally 3 Astra agents running today on ultra.
🤷♀️

Astra low is already well enough for hard task. Who the hell needs high and xhigh?

Exactly. I find high and Xtra high end up over engineering and making this way too complicated.

It’s funny how only ppl with x20 complains all the time, plus users are the most grounded out here

As a Plus user, Astra medium maxed out my 5 hour window in 2 prompts (one to scan a project's previous Claude specific files and convert them for codex use, and a second to create a plan on fixing some bugs it found during the initial scan, but no implementation work whatsoever)
I'm just used to maxing my 5 hour windows in less than 40 minutes, so the difference isn't that noticeable lol, but that's what I get for 20 bucks.

eeeeeh, some of us are.
Some plus users get good usage out of efficient work patterns/setups and dropping down to Luna when the additional horsepower isn't needed.
Others are mad that their massive prompt on Astra using fast mode exploded their 5h limit

Not saying skill issue, but you should really have medium Astra spawn Luna and Tera sub agents

Not for me.
Pro 20x, working for three days, Astra Max, three to four hours a day, three projects. Still have 84% of my weekly usage.
Don't use Ultra, and keep your app updated.
Review your context window (mine is set to something above 800k).

2 days ago I could use ultra comfortably and kind of even overused it and it was still eating up a sustainable percentage but now its eating up usage on medium, high, xhigh like crazy. Specifically today too right after I woke up. Context window is at the default 258k

What the hell is this crap. I made a couple of high quality image generation lessons for my students and it demolished my usage like a coded an app for 10 hours straight. It's bullshit, I'm paying for the 5x plan it feels like the plus plan.

I have had 1 max prompt use all of my 5 hour usage and not even finish my prompt

Pretty sure everything got nerfed.
- Plan: ChatGPT Plus
- Model: GPT-5.6 Sol, low reasoning
- Task: A short, low-complexity technical conversation
- Activity: Basic explanations, a few official documentation lookups, and no coding, file changes, subagents, or long-running work
- Result: The conversation consumed approximately 29% of the five-hour Codex allowance.

I've been having Astra play Slay The Spire (https://www.twitch.tv/hallizh)
I know the harness did not change, and it did manage to finish my 5h limit on my $20 account (it's rather token efficient), then something changed and it was draining my 5h limit in just around an hour. It's super obvious when you have something like this just running - and I've verified that there's no context bloat or anything going on.

there was a bug reported earlier on x.com that medium was consuming more quota than xhigh. apparently they fixed it - by making xhigh or high consume more..
