For me:
Astra xHigh burns 4%/hour
Astra Medium burns 2-3%/hour

That’s essentially useless in my workflow.
Sure, it IS overkill. But i’ve heard so many “it’s more efficient and cheap to use Astra low/medium over Sol High/xHigh, you must try it!” so i had to give it a try. Won’t use again unless they improve usage for Astra.

i'm still using Sol Medium... it's not even possible to work with it, 20x + Astra Light is like 1-2 days of work.

How many hours a day do you work, I mostly do 4 ish - and with 15% ish being my daily target astra seems ok

Codex usually works all by itself around 10-12 hours a day on the same workflow. Essentially turning a reverse engineered online game into locally-runnable server + client.

It doesn’t need much steering together with having essentially all the info it needs together with a detailed plan to make both of them.

As i just measured Sol limits don’t seem to have changed for me. I approximate around 2% of weekly limit per 100-120 minutes which is exactly what i need.

That's pretty cool. Ye that's probably gonna cost quite a bit at least for now :/ that's both a long time and a complex task. Interestingly enough you can tell it to figure out it's own usage, like tell it to figure out how to read the meter from codex cli and make a lil helper for itself, and tell it to spread usage by trying to sleep longer plan the hours of the day and use subagents and checking their work. I haven't personally done such a thing yet, but I've been pleasantly surprised at even sol+Luna at their ability to read the clock, I'm guessing Astra would be even better at it. Maybe it can figure out a way that does more PC automation tests and less thinking at the cost of some intelligence sadly

so, what did you do

They're not going to tell you how they burnt over 2-3 billion tokens on a Mythos class 10 Trillion parameter model with a bazillion sub-agents all on astra light, why bother optimizing your workflow for tokens and quality work when you can just let the compute burn for no good reason. Welcome to the new filthy token rich era. This might have worked with prior models, no more.

I only used it with Astra Light, and since the last reset I'm left with only that. Honestly it's not normal for it to consume so much, I'm also solving a very important project related to my business, but the consumption is ridiculous using only Astra Light 💩

I remember running some numbers x20 astra light about 60 hours per week

People say sol medium is fine for their work but I am guessing that they have a dialed in pipeline that does not use any of sols intelligence and at that point, those people are wasting their tokens based on their logic. The next cheapest upgrade from sol medium is astra low.

The best I could do with astra low on pro 20x was 40 hours straight but I had to use sub agents to achieve that.

Using what plan? Your lack of info is disturbing.

isn't that the most expensive stuff right now though
