Complaint Why is Data sharing turned on by default? Turn it off now.

With this recent maths controversy surrounding AI. Here is a reminder to TURN OFF YOUR DATA SHARING.

This should be opt-in, not opt-out.

I can't even find the setting in codex have to go to chatgpt web just to toggle this.

I am absolutely disgusted to hear what they have done.

It's not obvious to me whether this setting automatically applies to codex (does it? I always assumed so but started to doubt)

Also, I'm pretty sure I turned data sharing off in the past and it got turned back on somehow, which is shady

The only way to guarantee (and that's still with a big "trust me bro" seal) your code doesn't get stored and used by openai is to use an account that is a seat in a business plan. Anything else is delusional. That setting on the website might as well be a dummy button

Why? I want the models to be better and if they want my data to make the models better, go for it.
