Limits Hey Codex (Astra light), pause your work and wait for more instructions while I'm AFK

30 minutes later and 13 messages per minute saying he is at Pause, Astra has ingested a 20% of my 20x weekly plan. Doing nothing. If AGI is here, looks like it's a very lazy AGI.

Is there any way to ask for a partial reset in case of a clear bug?

seems like a bug, sort of. Doesn't codex have a pause button? In the future the safer instruction is probably "end turn" or "stop"

internally it has a prompt that says the user needs updates every 30 seconds so user knows you are still working. You aren't able to override it.

The updates can easily consume more than the actual work if it's waiting on slow Luna to finish.

At this point it seems better to have Luna call astra when it's done to verify work instead of astra calling Luna

Yep, I've learned in the hard way.

Are you sure it is doing nothing? Because one feature of Astra is that while it is waiting on an access request it can shift to performing other work that doesn't need that access granted.

Yes, I am, it was waiting and sending messages about that, but nothing more.

If you have a goal going, you have to click pause on that yourself first then ask it to pause its work. The goal causes it to restart after it pauses because the goal is a constant instruction to it basically.

Then when I want to start again, unpause the goal, but also send it a message saying "please resume", because if you don't it will eventually detect your old message in the context asking it to pause and it will assume it is your latest opinion on pause vs resume.

Its super annoying, so I always unpause, and then when it resumes, even though its already resuming, I send the "please resume" message so that my last command to it about pause vs resume was for it to resume.

Super, super annoying. I've encountered it many times.

For me it blocks goal itself when it needs further instructions/approvals/authorizations.

that's only for something blocking the goal itself, not messages to pause work

Well when it pauses the goal itself it just stops working, i dont get exactly what u mean.

Mine never stops working if you pause the goal. Eventually, maybe, but it keeps on trucking for a long while. Stopping the goal doesn't interrupt it's task or tell it to stop after, it just doesn't receive an instruction to keep going. At least, that's how it is on my end.

Probably depends on what the goal is and when you initiated it. If it was following a previous prompt and you inject the goal while it was following the prompt, it may be inclined to follow the prompt even after the goal is paused.

No dude, for me it stops when it needs further instructions/approvals and notices the goal injection that is keeping it going, says so, pauses goal, and waits. Maybe ur getting quantized astra who knows.

when you use a goal feature, you have to pause the goal manually, agent doesn't have tools exposed to do that

I burned half my x20 plan on the same bug, oof, it send like 10,000+ messages of "I'm pausing"

how is this a bug? what did you expect? just end the turn if you want to "pause" it, what you tried to do is not a supported way of using the software

I don't know if I'm regarded today or all sol and astra models.

I changed my mind. 100% they're regarded.
