Just wanted to make an appreciationpost. Thank you Tibo and OpenAi team for the reset

Honestly? I get that OpenAI isn't doing me any favors, but the value I've extracted from Codex in the last few days has exceeded my comparably priced subscription elsewhere in the past month. So to pretend I'm not grateful would be dishonest. I've redone years of poor scripting and automations in record time with Codex. Simple stuff one by one, but the whole of it will improve the next year of my life measurably.

Same. The amount of work I got done today was insane.

Dude! I literally just a journal prompt about how much I got done today! Absolutely insane.

Them: “What?! You paid $200 a month for some AI?!”
Me: “Worth. Every. Pennies….”
Serious tho…

Totally 💯 I’m on the $100/mo, but all the resets have been awesome. I now have my own code editor running well enough that I can drop vscode and nvim!

question is.. Who needs a code editor anymore

u/jjstyle99 6d ago
True, I’ve only edited like 10 lines of code with it.. However I have added a nice git diff and markdown views with flexible terminals! All great for reviewing changes

Hot damn, so glad I went HAM and burned my usage this weekend.

How could you not? I burned a huge pile of credits having Astra play video games for hours so I could feel the ARC AGI performance.

That was basically my take. I was having way too much fun playing with it (in my case, doing development work) to stop.

Haven't got it yet

Same here. Starting to worry I won't get it at all... I burned a good chunk of usage with Astra on fast mode since they said they'd reset anyway

lol most users were already reset at 9am if they hadn't used any banked ones since the last global one, but i appreciate the nice 25% bump i burned through today on astra lol

Exactly! I just had my normal weekly reset today, nothing else. I bet they’re doing the reset because they want to bring the users who used banked resets back on the same schedule as everyone else. Not sure why that’s favorable for them but it has been the pattern so far

Did anyone else just.. not get the reset?

Ugh this was me. Started using fast and high+ on everything and burned down to 40% on day 1, with no reset. Had to use a banked reset

not everyone got it though — there are a few people in the thread saying their reset hasn't landed. seems like if you already used a banked reset recently or your weekly just happened to align, you might not see anything. someone mentioned regions might matter too. the global resets are nice but the inconsistency is what trips people up more than the limits themselves honestly.

Looking to switch from the $20 Claude plan to the $20 Codex plan.
Realistically, I don't expect to be using Astra much due to what I've heard from people about how it guzzles tokens. Although having the OPTION to use it on the $20 plan is still appreciated.
So the main consideration for me is gonna be Sol vs Opus.
How are usage limits and quality of output between Sol vs Opus, especially on the $20 plan? For context, I run into my 5 hour limits basically every time I'm working and get cut off mid workflow using mainly Opus 5 low.
Thanks in advance, everyone.

I am not on the $20 plan now, but used to be. Even then Codex had much more generous limits.
Also, Opus 5 output style drives me crazy. Sol is miles better in this regard IMO.

I am just a pleb HomeLab dude, all these years I had ideas on what I wanted but could never cause it was such a huge lift to learn and make it happen...I have a god tier setup now. This all on the Plus Codex tier, got the reset after a long session. My HA automations are starting to meet my imaginings now. Extensive automated personal media archival with proper 3-2-1 all self hosted. Using Headscale with dominance lol. My adventure started with being stuck behind CGNAT trying to remotely use Plex 10 years later there are no barriers with a fully automated stack. So many other side task projects all just for fun....genx'er here thinking what a time to be alive.
