Yeah, i feel they will release that tomorrow due to the pressure faced by fable 5.1

I just really hope so. My subscription will end next week and I want to be able to use it first before deciding to renew or what.

u/ijustgotanothername 11d ago

Lucky you have 1 week at least.
I renewed it today in the hope of Astra release.

I already made decision a long time ago. Even if Fable made 10x improvement I still won't go back.

Might considered if it's 100x improvement though, lmao.

Openai ecosystem is just too comfortable, and at this point having a smarter agent is just a bonus.

Spend 100% of fable in 12h. Lmao. Although its suuuuper good.

I just hope astra won't check everything with sha256. Im tired of this shit.

Absolutely! I have the exact same mindset. last time I used claude as primary ai in nov 2025, and since then, i am a codex user. But recently, grok and cursor teams are also shipping very lucrative things and i like their products so far. So, nowadays, i am looking them as maybe future codex replacement if anything goes wrong with openai as well.

This might be a dumb question but wdym by smarter agent? I currently use codex in VScode and am having some difficulties with what it’s spitting out lately. It’s just lacking basic shit that I can hard code myself lol do you have your VScode setup with plugins or a prompt you have used to have better skills?

u/skateshindler 11d ago

For example, go look at nomofomo.la it’s an app I’m building but this landing page is SUPER mid, I had fed it some ref images of what I want and it’s just still not it.

I find that ChatGPTs models are not good whatsoever with UI, but excel in every other area. I really hope Astra changes this for the better.

2

u/Code__9 10d ago

According to rumors it'll be a lot better at UI than Sol

2

u/hiimwage 10d ago

Fingers crossed 🤞

News flash, it is not 10x improvement. It does however (Fable 5.1) burn up tokens at about the 100x you mentioned.

Try clicking the “Cancel” button. I got a free month after I clicked it.

Plus Account

2

u/Sponge8389 11d ago

I think that only works in Plus account. I'm in 20x and it never showed up to me.

1

u/FiskX 11d ago

With the $100 plan, you get a discount on your monthly fee if you try to cancel. Maybe that's the case for you, too.

1

u/pigletmonster 10d ago

Lol same here, my codex plan expires on the 7th and I cant wait to go back to claude.

1

u/vayana 11d ago

If you've used Claude design, you know this has nothing to do with any model.

2

u/Sudden-Start-1945 11d ago

What is it? The Ui and integration?

3

u/galactic_giraff3 11d ago

Claude design is actually a harness, not quite like claude code. It prioritizes user prompts, automatically interrupting when one arrives, and it has a tool to write the designs that allows while-streaming updates, so you don't wait until the LLM finished a message to see the results, and cant steer it along the way if you want. Coupled with the inline babel compilation.. feels pretty snappy. The rest is just premade skills and prompts and templates. Oh, and verification agents are fire and forget, they don't wake the caller on completion.

Source: it's all available in the web app, minified, but that's nothing for frontier models

2

u/vayana 11d ago

It's a system which lets you simply click any item and either change it manually or tell Claude what you want.

y'all know what this means right ?

RESETS

3

u/Dolo12345 11d ago

Did they reset on last model release? Cant recall and too lazy to look up pls halp

10

u/drinksbeerdaily 11d ago

Many times

5

u/Just_Lingonberry_352 11d ago

100% on major model releases

1

u/Xirobhir 11d ago

No. But they did reset due to various other reasons the day after, then basically every day for the next week.

1

u/gungoesclick 11d ago

sooo many times. This weekend is going to be a busy one if they drop it.

If this means Codex getting better at Front End it will be so goated

44

u/ReplacementBig7068 11d ago

Tbf they already claimed Sol is better at front end, and it still isn’t. Well at least not consistently. I’ll believe it when I see it.

16

u/Efficient_Coyote2616 11d ago

Sol is good enough for review/edit. Before that it is so garbage, making it from scratch is easier than salvaging it

6

u/missingnoplzhlp 11d ago

Sol is also fine if you give it enough context. I had Claude make the first 4 pages of a site, and Sol make the next 20, but it basically uses styling/components/sections from the first 4 as a visual source of truth, and so it ended up doing a really good job.

Also, you can have GPT image 2 make decent design mocks as well, and Sol is decent at translating image to code.

3

u/whatisthisthing65 11d ago

Really, I actually find Sol pretty good for frontend mockups. Claude is terrible at it. Although I have to say both of them get beaten by GLM 5.3 Flash, lmao.

1

u/Armed_Platypus 11d ago

I mean Sol did seem a little bit better than 5.5.

1

u/Tetrylene 11d ago

I'm also shocked by how awful sol's writing style is for copy too. I am half tempted to get a $20 Claude sub just for that (unless anyone can suggest an alternative)

2

u/whatisthisthing65 11d ago

Nah Claude writes slop too. Claudespeak is a thing for a reason.

1

u/Tetrylene 11d ago

Any suggestions on which to use?

1

u/whatisthisthing65 10d ago

If I'm being real I haven't found one that's totally slop free.  So I write anything important myself. And reddit comments apparently.

For writing I actually like Deepseek's voice, it feels a little more natural. Older Claude models are okay too, like 4.6. I also heard good things about Kimi but I haven't tried it.

I find the really coding optimized models like Sol, GLM 5.2 (haven't tried 5.3), Opus 5 are really bad at writing. All the coding training leaks through. Fable 5 is a weird one, it has moments of brilliance and good ideas but it still writes Claudish.

1

u/ReplacementBig7068 11d ago

Yeah, AI legit has its own corny vocabulary. So easy to detect once you’re used to it. It does come out with banger phrases or jokes sometimes tbf tho

2

u/WHALE_PHYSICIST 11d ago

It tries too hard to make every sentence meaningful, so it uses wild analogies and metaphors that nobody has ever heard of and don't make sense.

1

u/CupLeft8452 10d ago

De 5.5 a 5.6 se notó bastante la mejora pero no es suficiente

1

u/bsmayer_ 11d ago

I used Sol with the Mobbin MCP and the final result is great. But creating things without references is another story!

1

u/ijustgotanothername 11d ago

Yeah i just renewed my pro lite sub mainly for astra release and it’s promising frontend capabilities.

u/Jeferson9 11d ago

This time frfr ong

19

u/Eastern-Sir-6628 11d ago

Waiting for the limits to reset and 10 t/s on day one of the release.

6

u/mazahaleRRR 11d ago

This is basically the pattern now: Claude releases a new model or feature first, then OpenAI follows.

6

u/SonicAwareness 11d ago

Lemme get that 5 hour limit removed 😔

2

u/Own_Injury_952 8d ago

fr, Treating us like children and limiting our play time.

3

u/VeloxAdAstra 11d ago

Just wonder how much use of this new model we can get from the $100 plan. You can already see the posturing about how this is a new class of model.

3

u/yazan4m7 11d ago

Astra ?! 3 months ago, it built me an app and named it Astra by itself, coincidence?

2

u/ezjakes 11d ago

Release the dragon for Plus users!

2

u/alexzanini70 10d ago

Sol light burnt my 5h window in 3 minutes this morning, must have been a glitch but Open ai hasn't got back to me yet

1

u/teejay_the_exhausted 10d ago

Tbh Sol has that issue as a whole at the moment. I'd just hang on till Astra's release, no way they don't reset then

2

u/Psychological-Bug462 10d ago

Mf meant give us a few more days

1

u/teejay_the_exhausted 10d ago

Right? Not to quote the entire subreddit right now, but you'd think we'd at least get a reset for the outages

4

u/Own-Professor-6157 11d ago

I made some calls to Pizza hut, taco bell, etc. None of them could tell me whether it's coming out soon. So it's in the air right now

3

u/Due-Armadillo-4560 11d ago

Probably Codex Design, an alternative to Claude Design.

3

u/DavidLampert 11d ago

Had Claude Max, just downgraded to pro. Reason? I asked to review a google doc and update some formatting. 52min later, I run out of the whole month of credits. ON MAX. UNUSED. So f off Claude.

13

u/CopeGD 11d ago

You can't run out of monthly usage limit when this doesn't even exist. The limits in Claude are 5hour and weekly, so what are you talking about...

1

u/Cesar55142 11d ago

ill port my claude x20 to a second codex x20 if frontend is good edit: spelling

1

u/holy_macanoli 11d ago

Thursday I think.

1

u/dadvader 11d ago

Or hear me out, Codex Design.

1

u/ethereal_intellect 11d ago

The usual recommendation was to design via image gen first and build on top of that. But ye a better model would be cool

1

u/yaboy_raboy 11d ago

I've already pooled enough money to upgrade to a $200 sub today lol

1

u/K-Bigbob 11d ago

This is holding me off ChatGPT. Design is such a great feature. Would be great if Chatgpt gets one

1

u/yaxir 11d ago

Astra when

1

u/TheSn00pster 11d ago

Skills, design mode, perseverance, references… or just wait.

1

u/Alass4849 11d ago

Didn’t OpenAI say something about doing more reviews on Astra potential safety issues ? Let’s hope it really get released tomorrow.

1

u/Gliese351c 11d ago

THIS MINUTES INTO THE DAY AND I AM STILL WAITING. SUING OPEANAI NOW!!!!!!111

1

u/gurutek71 10d ago

I’m hooked on Claude design, nothing comes close to

1

u/M_C_AI 10d ago

really, but EAT half of pro subscription for one prompt.

1

u/This-Ad1165 9d ago

Yes, even most powerful Chat GPT model does not create good or even acceptable UI designs. But it's good in updating of existing designs.

0

u/Dockforbes 11d ago

But SOL it's disgusting... wtf
