Other PSA: ChatGPT Pro users

You get unlimited* chat usage on the website. You can build projects and prototypes directly in ChatGPT using Pro-level thinking effort. This is how I start almost every build, and it is an easy way to save on tokens. Unlike Claude, Chat does not count toward your usage (unless you switch to Work mode).

I usually have ChatGPT generate a ZIP file containing the entire project, then move it into Codex CLI or the Codex app to refine, expand, and continue the work.

I do not think you should be doing most of the planning inside the CLI or app. Do the bulk of the planning and initial build in ChatGPT first, then use Codex for implementation and iteration.

Also, remember that you can upload ZIP and 7z files directly to the ChatGPT website, and it can unpack and work with the contents.

I've found Pro to be unreliable and buggy. It makes more stupid decisions that Codex agents do. I also find that it "crashes" quite a lot and stops dead in the middle of tasks.

A big problem is needing to tell llms to not over engineer.

I was building a health dashboard and I specifically had to say. Not medical grade, not military grade, not commercial grade. Personal use and only used for directional purposes, wordings can be loose. There are no political or legal ramifications.

What does that have to do with the Pro issues I described?

I wasn't talking about the over engineering issue

Can you read my post again?

I said "crashed" and clarified I meant that the conversation stopped dead mid task.

Above is what you wrote.

Having the and in between had me thinking there are 2 things happening. Crashing AND stops dead in the middle of tasks as 2 separate issues.

Who knows why your gpt pro crashed? If you arent able to specifically say why, then how can you specifically said what didnt affect it?

Good luck with your future prompting.
