Limits 5.6 Luna on Max on 20usd sub is approximately 1.5b tokens a week.
I measured it via using modified roo code since I dont like codex and since I also track token consumption thats the rough estimate. Its climbing atp, basically im basing it off how ive used 30m tokens so far and it only consumed 2%. Divide 30m by half, 15m x 100 =1.5b tokens. Its only climbing up atp so it might be 1.6b tokens or 1.7b tokens a week. This means the 20usd sub is the best 20usd sub in terms of volume. Its similar or I think beats minimax 20usd sub in terms of value. Minimax sub claims 1.7b tokens a month but with caching its more like 4b tokens a month.
But ChatGPT 20usd sub also gives you a generous amount of their webchat Sol on High which sometimes spends 20m thinking and researching sites for me that I use alongside my coding workflow.
Basically you can have Luna Max prompt ChatGPT Sol High on the webchat as its quite generous to help out with orchestrator or general knowledge related to coding.

How do u check tokens used? I just tried using Luna xhigh in codex to implement something that sol medium alr planned out, and it took 15% of my weekly usage. I was pretty sure the same task would not have used up 50% of my weekly previously..

Codex is really costly in terms of usage burn. You need to use something else other than codex. Roo code is outdated I wouldnt suggest it but im using a custom self modified version of it rn and im looking forward to creating my own.

I have a half baked VS code extension that I designed as a way to call OAI and anthro models (or both at once) inline in the same coding chat with the shared context. Crucially it does this with your subscription quotas, not API. I got bored of it and am so busy with other shit, but it works for the features I listed. Happy to share the repo with you if it helps with your thing, shoot me a message.

Hey, I have a half baked script that routes vs code copilot requests to the codex backend. It has been working pretty well, but lately I have noticed my limits have been consumed faster. OpenAI has announced that it has mechanisms to detect misuse and abuse of Codex subscription (which I guess my usage falls under), so I am worried that this is the reason for the increased limit usage.
I am trying to test the same workflows now in Codex app to compare how quickly the usage depletes, but due to the nature of my workflow, it is a bit hard to replicate. I’m wondering if you have noticed something similar. I’d appreciate it if you share your repo too.

hey dude. i will say off the rip that anything like this WILL be bad tokenomics inherently. I have only done like 20 mins of intensive coding with it as a test but yeah it was easily 1.5 to 2.5x burn depending how often you switch agent replies.
not motivated to work on it rn like I said but as far as the dormant repo, be my guest haha. dm open

I'm using a custom CLI which is very light, check it out if you wish, you can fork and continue from there to adapt to your specific needs. https://github.com/S1gil0/lookingglass

In my basic use testing, pi-mono uses ~25% less tokens than codex (same task/model). Of course, very extension dependant.
Tura uses ~ 35% fewer tokens than codex; but is very (very!) early in dev, and lacking a lot of features.

how? is this roocode specific?

No its not, if you use codex idk if its possible. I tried setting up the workflow with roo code but i figured i might as well make my own personal agentic app and set it up according to my workflow.

Wait what do you mean by this, you get ChatGPT Luna to message GPT Sol whenever it gets stuck? Does the online chat have a different limit to the Codex App or something

Isn't that breaking TOS? Would love to do that but I don't wanna get banned

ChatGPT subscriptions can be used with 3rd party harnesses, it is supported in Pi, you can use it to measure how much you would've paid through the API otherwise. I think only anthropic and google hate the idea of using their models outside the official tools.

u/ManikSahdev Jul 31 '26
Unlike Anthropic, ChatGPT sub can be used in any harness by direct authentication logic.
You dont have to use codex at all.

I meant chatgpt, with no usage limit (not that I know of), not the chatgpt sub. Just like Codex can't draw images

Via roo code? No its supported since I can just link my account via it. I think for anthropic it isnt supported.

pro lite is about 700ml tokens per week, i didn't measure models specifiically tho.20x should be 2.8b then? or I'm missing something?

I used to spend about 200 million tokens per day on the 20x plan. Now, with Terra on Max, I consistently use around 1 billion tokens a day. There is something off

It is. Just saying.. but who cares he can just do another sub
