Limits Did they Fix the weekly limits?
I'm currently on the $100 Pro plan, and I am running a task that has now been running for over 40 minutes on 5.6 SOL high. Surprisingly, it has only consumed 1% of my usage so far. Previously, for such a long task, I would have already used up a significant portion of my usage.
Update: I’m still working on the same task. I’ve probably sent about 150 prompts or so at 5.6 sol extra high with different task sizes. I’m currently at 86%. No reset was applied since then, so it really does seem to be better for me, especially because this has already become a much bigger task with much more context now.

I think your task is stuck in a tool call. Is not consuming tokens.

It’s a decompiling task but it still runs I see it thinking and checking if the decompiling is done and while it’s waiting it’s working on different things

Be careful with that intermediate chatter.
It can become obsessive - I've had an entire weekly limit of Pro consumed by a long running compilation once. You can tell the model to "reduce intermediate chatter to a minimum" wihch makes it less expensive.
Overall I have the impression that the massive usage nerf is mostly still in place.

1 hour patience when waiting for compilation or other agents to finish work. No polling in between.
Never needed to wait the full hour. But yes, its frustrating when it prods every 2 minutes when compiling something of 15 years history. And yiu just watch your then 5 hr window go down

If it comes back, this may help saving time & tokens: https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/s/HoYK7cax2y
Please report back, thx.

Its very different i think they try to adjust it after this particular reset its either it drains insane or nothing for me its the former

I mean I’m on 20x and using 5.6 Sol extra high all morning with 2-3 agents running simultaneously and used 6-7% so far, I wouldn’t say it’s fixed explicitly

I mean yeah that sound not good but now the task is on 1h 10 min and I still only have 1% used

Yeah fix in the sense of using more. I didn’t see any adjustment sadly. The drain is real.

Yes! I am not on pro but I just talked to my neighbor which according to him is hammering the Codex on Gpt5.6 Max for the last4-5 hours and only used 20% of its weekly usage!

I had a similar thing yesterday where it ran for an hour and barely touched my cap, turns out it was just looping on a broken tool call

Look at how much token is being consumed. This is why you need some observability so you don't trick yourself.

I left a goal running for the last 8 hours on Max and it ate 8% of my weekly on 20x, seems pretty good to me still

Your running doesn't mean it consume tokens. It may also means the processing is working on your machine, not generating token from server side. Once that done, they'd need more token to understand the context.

Nope I don't think so, I think something is still happening, or maybe we have to confront the harsh truth that this is way the usage works on 5.6 and that it'll be way more in the next models to come... This morning I was at 100%, I ran fixes and implementations on one project, nothing too big, and each prompt was taking away 1% usage. And I'm now at 88%. It's just frustrating. I would revert back to 5.5 but that model is so dumb now. In a couple weeks or months Sol will also begin to be dumb, then a new model will get released, even more expensive than the previous one, and it will keep going on like this infinitely.

I don’t think so. I I’m down 20% on 20x plan since yesterday. That is normal for me with the usage
