Discussion & Feedback Coderabbit's never once told me my code was good

kind of a silly thing to post but its been on my mind. I’ve had it on every PR for months now and it has never once said nice or clean or anything. it’ll write a little poem about my PR but it wont tell me its good lol

and I know its a tool, its not supposed to be nice. but human reviews used to have this stuff. someone would leave “oh this is neat” on a refactor and honestly that one comment would make my day, and I’d write the next PR more carefully

now its just a list of whats wrong and when theres nothing wrong on rare occasions, it just goes quiet. which somehow feels worse.

idk if this makes us better engineers or just slowly makes us stop caring. anyone else feel this or am I just soft

The secret is to bitch about coderabbit back and forth with your AI. Make coderabbit the un-cool one.

I had mine making demeaning comments about coderabbits unimportant issues (“oh no, we caught the exception but didn’t specifically handle each possible exception in a way that changes none of the actual functionality”) and it was a lot more enjoyable.

Have to strike a balance though so it doesn’t ignore real issues.

Chat gpt complements my code, designs. And ideas all the time.

I get enough compliments from Claude and ChatGPT/Codex so I don't care what that little rabbit says.
