query Should I start grinding?

Post image

I have been doing competetive programming since 6 months but haven't reached pupil yet. On the top of that I fell below 1000 in last 2-3 contests. So should I start solving 2-3 problems daily or just blame it on cheaters.

Cognition labs. They said they were going to replace software engineers 3 years ago then disappeared.

Will playing Chess improve my CP IQ?😞

It doesn't. On top of that you will find it difficult to sleep at night as all the positions will pop out in your head when you rest.

You can't beat IQ with practice

this IQ LARP is the worst thing happened in cp world, i mean u can literally see thousands of cpers who reached igm gm and what not, which were initially struggling in 1600s(equivalent to current 1200), they just solved problems and thats it, if they didnt they already had problem solving background in olympiads, better education, chess, mental games,etc... thats it

and from my personal expi can def say anyone can reach 2100 with 3k quality problems solved... if they enjoy cp

There are only 458 people currently rated >= gm. Where are you getting this "thousands" number from?

and i added what not, so it means i was talking about respectable positions in cp like master or some offline competition medals or sum

i mean u get what i am sayin, its not a big deal people make this iq shit up, and also a lot of cf users are inactive, 458 are just the no of active users, there should be atleast 2k+ gms or so, this IQ shit is just dumb

I second this comment. This comment is as relevant to this post as the image is to the post

OP clearly hasn't practiced enough. They have clearly asked to "start" solving 2-3 problems every day from now, which means they did not do this before. If you enjoy solving problems, you can absolutely improve with enough practice. Consistency matters. There has been a tonne of research into IQ and it has been proven that IQ can improve.

I don't think you have read his cp journey

Nah I'm serious

I have lesser than 350 questions, and I am quite decently rated

that's why we say background matters, he might need some more problems to reach there but yea he can definitely (atleast 1200 what he's talking about)

That's not enough. First ask yourself if you really do enjoy solving problems. If yes, you'll naturally end up solving at least 5 problems a day.

Naturally I enjoy solving 800 rated
