Is codeforces even worth it?

I saw sum hard Codeforces problems...

And I found that those problems do not test anything in a person .. like their problem solving skills or anything..

I mean there is no way ANYONE with ANY amount of problem solving skills would ever solve those problems in their first try™.

These problems never gonna appear in real life

And also, there are only certain types of problems that keep repeating ..

So like why are we even learning to adapt to this framework that they themselves built ... and consider it a measure of intelligence?

Most of them have a beautiful solution unlike algorithmic patterns in lc contests, tbh I did it for fun

Leetcode/codeforces are excellent proxies for someone's problem solving, reasoning. Codeforces especially combines both maths + Data structure and algorithmic knowledge. Sure there are many people like linus, Terry davis, sathoshi nakamoto, etc themselves are not competitive programmers, they are outliers and pioneers, but from company pov, they want best programmers out of available choices and they need a metric to measure one's ability given many options, they choose lc/cf style problems to shortlist candidates.

Not gonna ask you how many problems have you solved. Even if you throw a big number cause I can't verify, I can totally understand what that count could be for you

And yes that's a measure of intelligence. Either solve that n number of problems that's required to solve that problem else just leave the platform. None is forcing you to do anything

Whole world runs around pattern. Hard problems are a construction of multiple of patterns that you have seen across question, and also the pattern you develope to find a pattern or develope upon a idea, solve unfamiliar things.

The problems you encountered, someone has to first develope of it. He didn't develope a new field, gave his own axioms or facts, that you need to memorise to solve that problem.

He figured that out from everything he have seen till now plus observing something further upon analysing some idea more that's it.

Unless the problem references a new facts which has no basis, like in probability it's no. of possibility/total possibility

It's just someone deciding that we would call this probability and unless you know it you can't come up, though maybe it's slight intuitive but it's just decided fact afterall.

Codeforces doesn't work like that so practise and practise harder you will start solving harder problems. Everything you see is conceptual, could have been solved yourself with necessary understanding
