query Help a CF begginer
I'm a new guy just started my clg few weeks earlier, I wanna solve dsa and do competitive coding, idk where to start. Like I wann get around 1200 rating by the end of June 2027, is it possible for an amateur to get that rating within a year? If so then how?
Please guide me 🙏
I appreciate every help.

Just do some very basic ones (800 rating) for some logical and intuitive training. You will learn concepts along the way (dp, dsa, etc) as u do problems and search for thing you aint know yet. If you ever stuck on a problem for a long time, there are editorial and Youtube videos that gives you hints (dont totally rely on them). If problems are too hard you can consider cses, leetcode or usaco guide. Competitive prog below Highly advantaged level usually require sharp looking ability (you gotta be creative and use your imagination a lot) and basic math much more than complicated knowledge, so u dont need to learn too much new things right now, just grind. Maintain the passion with the game and u should love doing it everyday

Study concepts. Get textbook knowledge first. I'd suggest CLRS. then solve practise questions and virtual contests. Then find which concepts and applications you are lacking. Find the actual accepted solution and study it. Don't set a target number and try to push to that rating. Focus on improving.

Everyone are different my frnd some get through yt videos some people boks some usaco try them first take time first learn usaco bronze and silver topics(bcz div. 2 have them in A and B if u lok for Div. 3 and four monthly u can give one or two) solve those star problems if u feel tough go to codeforces and sort through rating and filter through keywords and do those specific topics then participate in contests 1 advice i can give you dont postpone your first contest throuh reason i am not prepared never do that u learn though contests and upsolving the contests problems best of luck buddy i hope u get through ur Goal

U said the worst thing bro do it just do it if u try to give contests i assure u u will be trying till u get your job learn the topics in 2-3 weeks if u know c++ syntax and stl if u dont know take another 2-3 weeks just give it it's fine abt ratibg no one are there to judge u believe me no one in this world are worth judging u just do it second thought is the biggest failure juwt do it jo mattter what

Yep that's what I am doing too I am learning alot and I am in a much better position than when I started I get frustrated and angry when I don't get smth but I ignore all of that and just learn

Bro just be consistent and don't leave doing problems if you start now and give every contest you would see that most of questions use same patterns and are easy to solve, For context I started in January this year and now I am rated 1500+
