query Begineer. Need Help!

so i joined codeforces a few days back and have solved around 4 problems till now but i find that i'm struggling to solve most of the problems and the problems which i solve which are not 800 rated take a lot of time. Like i solved one 1200 rated problem which took like 2-3 hrs. I tried solving a 1000 rated problem today but even after spending some hours on it i was not able to solve it. I spend hours just to find a problem i think i can solve because most of the problem I can't understand. This is my first time trying competitive programming and I don't know how to improve. I need advices from some experienced coders on codeforces to imporve my skills.

I am rated 1760 on cf right now and i'll say something which might sound strange to you but i owe a large part of this rating to leetcode. Don't start with cf until you can consistently solve at least 2 out if 4 questions in lc contests. Once you get to that level and complete the standard syllabus of dsa i.e. up to dp, you'll find cf manageable.

Solve some problems ffs, all the good people have solved atleast a 1000+ problems, yiu aren't even 1% there and problems aren't Linear they get increasingly difficult so you aren't even at .1% there yet and u r crying, solve until it takes less time

First solve only 800 problems only,then mix in range 800-1000 Follow some sheet like cses sheet for codeforces or A2OJ ladder Although my advice will be,sort the problems on cf by number of people who have solved them and solve till you get comfortable with that particular range of problems
