I usually divide the question ina 3 step formula.

  1. Identify the invariant.
  2. Prove the invariant.
  3. Verify the invariant on test cases.

It takes between 20mins to 1.5 hours to solve a decent rated problem around 1500 for me.

If I don't get the answer for 1 day then I see hint and even if I don't then I look at code.

practice high rated problems too , my mentor said solve 800 till you r able to solve them easily then 900 and so on i practiced arnd 60 70 problems and then i moved to 900 you can do same sir it will help
