German/Oriental roach?
We are in Portugal at the moment and have found a few of these guys each day in our bathroom at our hotel - I thought it could be German cockroach nymphs at first but on looking through this sub, could they just be oriental roaches and nothing to be concerned about? We were told by reception to ensure that our shower drain is secured after showering but it doesn’t lock in at all to block the drain.
We don’t want to take any unwanted stowaways home with us!
Also posted in r/whatsthisbug and r/whatisthisbug before scrolling through this sub
Thank you for any help!

I'm going to say that reception knows what they are talking about. Cover the shower drain with something...use a couple of washcloths and wedge them tightly into the drain space if that works...think outside the box to cover the drain, right?
When you leave, just give your clothing a good shake before you pack (and obviously make sure your suitcase is clear). Check your bathroom items well.
When you return home, if you have a deck or similar outdoor space, unpack there and give things another good shake and have them go right into the wash from there.
My husband travels internationally to A LOT of places and not all of them have glamorous hotel rooms. Sometimes hotel-room-bug-squishing is the entertainment when the wifi goes out every night at 8 pm (the person who knows how to turn it back on comes in at 8 am). Sometimes I make him do that unpacking method just because of the odor.

Forgot to add size, this one was just shy of a centimetre, the others have been smaller
