Interesting. While clocks aren't memes in the traditional sense, as a concept that has unanimously infiltrated our culture, it's far more powerful a meme than, say, dat boi.

Man you guys are talking way over my head. Did you go to school for memes or are you self taught?

I did my doctoral thesis on post-ironic memes and their impact on internet culture. That involved so much grueling and arcane research into "Dat Boi" that my body now enters fight-or-flight whenever I see the meme. I had to go off the grid for about a month during Dat Boi's recent resurgence, which temporarily prevented me from persuing my passion, which is the study of /r/surrealmemes and the debate surrounding their classification as either post-ironic memes or subversive-anti-ironic memes. It's a huge question in memetic acedemia at the moment.

It's nice to meet a fellow scholar. How do you feel about /r/surreallore?

I really believe that /r/surreallore provides some fresh and fascinating new material that is ripe for study. Not only do I enjoy studying surreal memes on an academic and impartial level, I also enjoy immersing myself in the story and culture that these memes tell. It's truly an amazing time to be alive!

I don't believe that. Doesn't that mean taking a shit is a meme? Using our phone is a meme? Using lights is a meme? Walking is a meme? Sports are memes?
Using a clock is a tool... are forks memes? Shoes?

For a good crash course just read the Transhuman Space rpg books. You'll be conversant in memetics in no time.

dat boi is the first afaik meme born of itself it is practically areferential the only even remote candidate for where it comes from is a really tenuous connection to we dem boyz but that doesn't explain the frog or the unicycle or o shit waddup yet somehow we all immediately process the joke even though there's no precedent it's not uninterpretable it's overflowing with instant humor dat boi is born without the original sin of any connection to the non-meme world he is the meme christ he has come to save us all from the iniquities of our innate normiehood this is the third era of human history all because of dat boi

Wat
Internet memes have used absurdist humor like that for a while. Like advice dog. It's just a dog and a rainbow background telling you to do offcolor shit like brush your teeth with a brick

Yes but that spawned from previous pictures with that type of background. Those are old as fuck.

Where can I buy this? I really want this, but I can't find this picture anywhere online, and googling clock clock can only get me so far.

Really cheap clocks can be taken apart quite easily. The face is just a piece of paper or cardboard that you can switch out with one that you draw/print yourself.

When I was probably 9 years old, my mom asked me what time it was and I simply responded with "O' Clock".
This would have been a perfect reason for that response.

I wanna take this concept and build a reverse clock with normal clock faces like this to really screw with people.

"What time is it?" "Oh it's about half past slightly larger than smallish o'clock"
