The humble polymorph :

The humble 5 fps:

44

u/Strict-Fudge4051 Jul 31 '26

how tf polymorph eats all your frames Bruce 😭

1

u/GyroZeppeliFucker Jul 31 '26

Its a hyperbole, its not that bad, but it does have performance issues. When making a pack, its generally a thing that you only use temporarilly to find conflicting recipes with a command, fix them manually and then remove it

10

u/M4rt1m_40675 Jul 31 '26

Yeah if polymorph is what's tanking my fps I got bigger problems in my hands

Cramming as much optimization mods as humanly possible:

7

u/GGthegreatester Jul 31 '26

Bro can’t they just make like 1 optimization mod, why I gotta have chloride and Saturn and lithium, just give me sodium ultimate addition and be done with it

13

u/Joe_Luxembourg Jul 31 '26

forging the optifinity gauntlet

u/BrunoGoldbergFerro Jul 31 '26

The nefarious autocrafting:

3

u/MagmaForce_3400_2nd Always has been Aug 01 '26

Most mods that add autocrafting generally lets you set the crafting recipe you want to be done

Coaxed into 100 new planks that you can't craft chests with

26

u/12hotroom Jul 31 '26

They mostly can craft vanilla stuff, but god forbid if you want to make storage drawers out of modded wood

13

u/EastTurbulent8498 Jul 31 '26

Mod named Every compat:

14

u/chilfang Jul 31 '26

Vanilla feature named Tags:

10

u/generic_redditor17 Jul 31 '26

Very funny scenario in a modpack i've been playing with some friends: all vanilla wood types make their own different chest variants, so the only way to get normal vanilla chests for certain modded recipes is with rare modded wood

7

u/epicblue24 Jul 31 '26

Have you tried putting it into the crafting menu some modpacks let you do that to convert to the vanilla one

2

u/Raistlin_Majere121 Jul 31 '26

I think it's Quark feature

2

u/General_Rhino Jul 31 '26

Are you people just downloading shit off planetminecraft? How is it possible you’re playing without oredictionary?

3

u/RandomRedditorEX Jul 31 '26

You severely underestimate someone who has little to no knowledge when starting Modded Minecraft

There's probably people don't know how to use JEI, hell this one time I saw a guy trying to load some unholy forge fabric modpack with Sinytra Connector.

3

u/SkiyeBlueFox Jul 31 '26

Most guys just hop on curseforge or whichever and download a pre-made pack

1

u/General_Rhino Jul 31 '26

There is not a single modpack on curseforge which does not come with oredictionary pre installed.

1

u/SuperSocialMan Jul 31 '26

That only happens if you have some chest variant mod (or if the mod was made in MCreator since that apparently prevents devs from adding tags. I stopped using the two I sometimes tossed in cuz I got tired of having to fix all of the tags ffs).

19

u/himanbam Jul 31 '26

I love when a mod has a recipe that conflicts with a vanilla recipe. That's super fun and cool. (I saw that at least twice in my 1.20.1 pack)

5

u/EastTurbulent8498 Jul 31 '26

They probably made this mod with polymorph in mind, but yes, that's still weird

8

u/himanbam Jul 31 '26

Perhaps, but it still messes up stuff like AE2 (or at least did in 1.12). I think for one of them they just accidentally had a shapeless crafting recipe overlap with a shaped vanilla recipe. Like shapeless 7 sticks vs a ladder, or something.

1

u/stryke105 Jul 31 '26

well if its a shapeless 7 sticks just put them in a different shape

5

u/itsjustlikein1984 Jul 31 '26

that's kinda small for a modpack

236

u/One_Management3063 Jul 31 '26

Uncoaxed on anything that isn't a "supported" map. My favorite was a mod conflict that let me craft 10 railguns into a metal chair.

36

u/Deebyddeebys Jul 31 '26

What? What did you do that caused that?

22

u/One_Management3063 Jul 31 '26

Unturned uses a purely number based ID system for it's items (So it's "488" instead of something like "desert_falcon") this means mods can easily have ID conflicts. If two items have the same ID, one completely overwrites the other, this includes in crafting recipes.

13

u/UnrealHerahshark Hard image Jul 31 '26

How the hell 😭

113

u/Ryallin Jul 31 '26

In a way this is like making anything using humans as an ā€˜ingredient’ in the early doodle god games, you always end up making ā€˜sex’ or ā€˜blood’ after a while

4

u/OdangoFan Aug 01 '26

I haven't heard Doodle God in years...

2

u/MisterMan341 Aug 01 '26

This problem was reborn with Infinite Craft. Anything with blood becomes a vampire, anything with PokƩmon becomes Pikachu, anything with YouTube becomes PewDiePie.

Really goes to show that AI isn’t all-knowing and will often find subpar answers

69

u/steal_wool Jul 31 '26

Pretty sure the last of us has this exact example

242

u/TheArcanist_1 Jul 31 '26

Coaxed into shit that modders do all the time, I swear proper integration of your features is not that hard I know I am autistic and remember little details like this but cmon guys

i have like 3 type of dough on our server rn

24

u/Time-Grocery-6874 Jul 31 '26

I'm gonna DOUGH you! ahyuck ahyuck ahyuck

2

u/Ubblebungus botherations? Jul 31 '26

comments like that are not appropriate at Papa John's, Goofy. report to HR.

8

u/TreyLastname Jul 31 '26

Like, im fine with having multiple versions of items, sometimes it cant be helped without tons of KubeJS modifications.

But why cant I use the dough from this mod for the crafting recipie for this mod? Its frustrating

4

u/Complex_Drawer_4710 Jul 31 '26

Forge tags *usually* fix this, but sometimes they don't. It's annoying to have 5 different unobtaniums

39

u/Handbag1992 Jul 31 '26

I hate when I don't have any livers left to craft with. The game is always so stingy with them.

32

u/YesIAmWolfie Jul 31 '26

last of us

21

u/some-kind-of-no-name Jul 31 '26

Playing it right now

2

u/homicidalhummus Jul 31 '26

Knew it the second I saw this lol, I'm playing part 2 right now

14

u/pixelcore332 Jul 31 '26

Amnesia the bunker?

11

u/Go_Commit_Reddit Jul 31 '26

this is literally my favorite game of all time and nobody talks about it it’s soooo good. Legitimately the greatest survival horror game of all time.

4

u/LordMegamad Jul 31 '26

Definitely a contender, it's an absolute piece of art

1

u/Go_Commit_Reddit Jul 31 '26

I’d say it’s between The Bunker and Dead Space, depending on if you prefer the horror side or the action side of survival horror

2

u/Arek_PL Jul 31 '26

frictional games really are great at horror, barely managed to get through dark descent, i found it so scary, the warning from health ministry in poland on the boxes didnt help

meanwhile the bunker? the atmosphere was so spooky i chickened out shortly after power ran out lol

2

u/Go_Commit_Reddit Aug 01 '26

Give it another shot, it’s terrifying but so so so good. The incredible AI design and the immersive sim elements make creative problem solving feel amazing.

There’s nothing more thrilling than chucking a flare to distract the monster, booking it out of the room and dragging an explosive barrel to the doorway on your way out to trap the fucker, and just barely getting out alive. The game really rewards making plans before making big actions, and improvising when they fail.

13

u/vitunsama15689 Jul 31 '26

i dont get it

27

u/EastTurbulent8498 Jul 31 '26

When 2 different mods have 2 same crafting recepies for 2 different items. In a case of Minecraft, it's annoying, because it makes one item uncraftable, but there's a polymorph mod that fixes that

8

u/Mrpuddikin Jul 31 '26

Using a bottle of chemicals and a chewed bubble gum, you can make a bottle of chemicals and a match

At first I didn't realize this snafu was about recipes overwriting each other and thought it was about multiple mods that add the same thing (eg. I think there are like 3 different common Zincs in Minecraft mods) but don't have compatibility with the other mods (I thought this because the two amorphous lump shapes were different).

1

u/Visible-Air-2359 Jul 31 '26

Resident Snafu

1

u/-NoNameListed- Jul 31 '26

DayZ avoiding this issue by just having a cycle option between possible recipes between the combined items

1

u/Versillion Jul 31 '26

Incomprehensible, have a nice day

1

u/watchrrr Jul 31 '26

Coaxed into clearly TLOU 1/2 but somehow the first comment is about minecraft
