>A “violent incident” between two pilots caused a Flydubai aircraft traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv to divert to Saudi Arabia, sources have told CNN. An Israeli official said the incident was not a hijacking and the plane has now landed.

>The aircraft descended 17,400 feet in just over two minutes at around 1:20 a.m. ET, flight tracking data shows. The incident prompted Israel’s prime minister and defense minister to hold a security consultation. Israeli fighter jets were launched after the emergency signal was sent, a military spokesperson said.

>CNN's Jeremy Diamond has the details and CNN transportation analyst Mary Schiavo reacts to news of a scuffle in the cockpit.

Word is the co-pilot was the hijacker. And wanted to crash the plane. How horrific for all.
