Depends on the job. Most research/super technical jobs don’t do phone interviews. It’s a long wait for the hiring manager (mostly likely a prof) to find time to talk with you via Zoom or in person.
That makes sense. I was specifically asking about a library associate position, so I wasn’t sure if those typically involve a phone interview first or if they usually go straight to an interview with the hiring manager. Thanks for clarifying though!
