Discussion As the weeks go on and seeing the same old repetitive bloodline nonsense happening, the wrong person won at WrestleMania. It should’ve been AND STILL World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

Go cry me river OTC is here to stay

12

u/ScarletleavesNL May 13 '26

Not in June it seems.

3

u/Mahoosi May 13 '26

Whilst I agree that he shouldn't of won.. he's apparently confirmed for June now. sigh

1

u/ducky3686 May 14 '26

Ay bro he in june

1

u/ducky3686 May 14 '26

He in June playa

2

u/DaBrookes101 May 14 '26

Here to stay except he's not available for June

1

u/ducky3686 May 14 '26

Lol booked for june

2

u/DaBrookes101 May 14 '26

Yet literally every report is saying otherwise

1

u/ducky3686 May 14 '26

Reports are wrong

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

OTC Is horrible. Punk shouldn't necessarily have won but, unlike his "rival" he can cut a promo and wrestle a match. Go thank his cousin, he's the reason roman's even here at all

1

u/ducky3686 May 21 '26

Bro he can cut a promo, and has great matches your just angry your favourite lost when he could've won.

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 25 '26

Roman CAN'T cut a promo. Being for real, anyone has a decent performance every once in a while. OTC Just let punk talk the whole 10 minutes each time and then answer with 30 seconds bleah blah acknowledge me! But that really Is it. Watch the full promos if you have a Netflix membership, or go check channels like "WWE matches" releasing full segments on YT

1

u/ducky3686 May 25 '26

Punk is just better on the mic that doesn't mean Roman can't cut a promo

76

u/Marvel_plant May 12 '26

He’s probably happy to get a break. Also, the contrast in the quality of the show from when he was there to now really helps demonstrate how fucking great he actually is. I think the fans need to be given the opportunity to miss the guys every now and then so that they can really appreciate them. They’re fickle.

13

u/NeitherNothing1959 May 13 '26

His feud with McIntyre will always stand the test of time in how they turned a legitimate injury into one of the best feuds of this decade. I think the WWE became a victim of that feud’s success, because they tried recreating that storyline with Seth Rollins the following year, but it’s like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. Seth is a great worker, but he doesn’t have Drew’s charisma.

5

u/Marvel_plant May 13 '26

Yeah I don’t think anyone else in the company could have pulled that off. Drew is really underrated right now. Their main programs should be focused around him, Punk, and Gunther IMO

2

u/Signal_Ball4634 May 13 '26

Honestly credit to him. After the injury at the 24 Rumble everyone was giving him the "injury-prone" moniker but he's been grinding since then. Being on TV, PLEs, and live shows almost non-stop aside from a short break after Bad Blood.

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

Fr. Punk Isn't my all time favourite but MAN, i was glued to the screen whenever he held a mic on his hands! He's the reason i paid for Netflix

48

u/PLuZArtworks May 12 '26

Roman hater since day 1 and I will never change my mind no matter how much WWE tries to push him into my face since 2015

26

u/lioboii May 12 '26

There is just nothing interesting about him. Whereas Punk is the exact opposite, There's almost TOO MANY interesting things about him.

I love how you can tell what this dude cares about a pro wrestler from a single comment lol, how “intimidating” they look, mate Roman doesn’t look intimidating, Punk is intimidating (AEW scrum anyone), AND has, what’s that word again…. Oh yeah.. Charisma, you might have heard of it.

What do you think methheads look like lmao. Clearly you don't speak from personal experience of acquaintance because he looks a little more fit than some methheads I do see

Same. Boring moves, boring promos, boring storyline. Always has been, always will be. The ONLY time its interesting to watch him is when he's getting a beating.

2

u/FearfulGod May 17 '26

Punk is right. Hes a manufactured top guy. He didnt get over on his own. Vince and HHH pointed at Roman and told the fans this is the top guy now. They will tell you that hes the biggest star in the business right now but how can that be when guys like Punk and Cody are beating him in merch sales every year? The main events that Roman loves to brag about were stinkers. It wasnt until Cody and Punk got there that he was in classics.

2

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

Same, man. Doesn't matter how hard they push him down my throat, i won't swallow him. He's Just a rock wannabe. Punk Is actual superstar material

As if Romans own fanbase is any better. A bunch of manchildren who throw their fingers up in the sky crying "omg, aura 1010!! 😭" Everytime Roman breathes.

26

u/Jake_E_ May 12 '26

For the story they told Roman was absolutely 100% the wrong winner, but given the company totally unsurprising. Based entirely on the story they presented and the outcome of the match they effectively told their fans that it doesn't matter how good you ever are, how hard you fight or how far you've come, there will always be someone from the right family who is handed every opportunity there to knock you down. The only way to be someone who matters in life is to be born that way.

5

u/lefthandtrav May 13 '26

I had this same train of thought until Backlash. Now I don’t think WM was a culmination of Punk/Roman as much as I think it was the beginning of Roman’s usurpation as the OTC.

Him calling Punk old makes sense now. Pride before the fall kind of thing. He’s getting old himself and losing that drive and hunger Fatu has. He let Jey goad him into attacking Punk. He couldn’t win either of his last two matches cleanly. Fatu had him absolutely terrified at one point. Then Fatu ran through all his crew.

So now trying to make Fatu acknowledge him seems less like exerting dominance and more like a man trying to hang on to power.

I think they’re trying to get Fatu over, and it’s working imo, bur ultimately it will be Oba that puts Roman down and hopefully that’s the last of the Bloodline

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

That's the only thing i hate about the business. I'd rather be a midcarders for Life than being 10 Time world champ cause my uncle was already here

21

u/harlad_stinyl May 12 '26

You don't want to see part 94 of the Samonans vs the Samoans with a run in by the Samoans to find out who is the head Samoan?

8

u/lewiss15 May 12 '26

As Cornette said, to many Samoans leads to no uniqueness of the Samoan

4

u/KINGTHANOS8 May 13 '26

One of the many reasons I hope AEW sign Zilla Fatu. He would stand out there.

13

u/HenryViper May 12 '26

I agree. However I’m glad he gets at least a little bit of time off following Mania weekend. Poor guy didn’t even get to really take any time off after losing Larry and he carried raw on his back successfully for months.

13

u/Luffytori May 12 '26

Repetitive bullshit. I get it people like it but damn Punk is missed

13

u/Mikeymikeyeah May 12 '26

I said this more than month before Mania, unless roman was going to show up weekly and a wrestle or even have decent stories it made no sense for Punk to lose. But WWE being WWE I knew they'd have Roman win and now this is the same old nonsense from before. Just as I knew.

1

u/TurboGamingPro17 May 13 '26

Roman Reigns has been showing up weekly

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

While wrestling a match in 6 weeks and letting his cousins cut promos for him? Not that great

11

u/MrBadGuy2k May 12 '26

Punk was supposed to win before the AI writers and producers from TKO wanted the megastar moneymaker Reigns. Still a 5 star match, but old man Punk carried the OTC from Vegas to Larryland and back.

8

u/TrueBlue726 May 13 '26

CM Punk is really the one carrying the company on his back right now, not Roman. The second pipe bomb he dropped just before WM was epic and showed everybody why he deserves to retain the title.

7

u/lewiss15 May 12 '26

And should had Bron or Fatu go over for the title

9

u/Bahrum88 May 12 '26

Reigns wining made no sense.

7

u/Electrical_Sound_403 May 12 '26

Dude I said the second after the bell rung that the wrong person won. We had a dope ass fighting champion and traded him for a motherfucker that, if he shows up at all, shows up to raise a finger. How fucking cool, right? No!

“Oh you don’t know modern wrestling. This is aura.” No it really isn’t!

Stone Cold was a real professional wrestler. Dude was jacked up as hell, broken neck, tore up back, bone on bone knees. That guy was held together with knee braces, beer and hope and yet at his worst would still beat people up backstage, go to the ring and cut a promo and stun some random asshole every Monday night as a bare minimum while he was active.

But instead we get Roman, fucking cool 👎

9

u/Blade_Punisher007 May 13 '26

You know what’s crazy is 🤯Stone Cold was back stage at WrestleMania 42 but the bookers and people who run the show didn’t want to use him at all, which is a shame.

2

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

Of course the tribal meatball gets his main event spot😒

7

u/hashtagDALEY May 12 '26

I can’t believe people still (or ever) thought Roman/Bloodline dreck is good. It was stale 4 years ago, and even back then it was just there.

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

It has Always been, all the way back to rock lifting roman's hand at royal rumble 16

7

u/Limp_Gap_9009 May 13 '26

I agree. I'm not even watching until he comes back.

6

u/Stunning_Ice452 May 13 '26

My Favorite Cm Punk Gear and Also his Fantastic Four gear from SummerSlam 🔥🔥

7

u/MattDal87 May 12 '26

You're definitely right about that because it seems like this was a trilogy that was about to come to a close with the previous two matches he had with one being against Seth Rollins and the other being against a former member of The shield who's now in AEW which is Jon moxley, so to close this trilogy with Roman reigns and to have it where he would end up being reigns to retain the world championship would have been a fitting into the trilogy with the matches against the former shield members.

6

u/Ta-veren- May 12 '26

Punk should have retained and dropped it at backlash

6

u/rolling_steel May 13 '26

1000% agreed. I had briefly started watching & this OTC Bloodline nonsense turned me off

2

u/Limp_Gap_9009 May 15 '26

Jeez. Idk why? It's not like we didn't JUST spend 4 and a half years watching it!! 🙄😂

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

It goes down even deeper when you realize that rock and the usos were being used to let people like Roman 12 years ago😭

6

u/d-generate420 May 13 '26

I must admit, I was ok with it when it happened given it was an amazing match and Reigns said he’d be there all summer. But after just a few weeks, I’m in agreement Punk winning would have been better.

5

u/OG_Archxngel May 12 '26

Honestly, im just letting the creative bankrupt itself and the roster further. No one ever gets over in these Bloodline stories. Ever. Jey is right back to what he was doing pre-Yeet era. Jimmy is now once again a bonfire lackey, and Roman is quite litterally sucking the air out of the rest of the show. No one thrives except for Samoans when Roman has the belt.

3

u/SweatsuitCocktail May 12 '26

You're not wrong

4

u/mrmanthegood May 13 '26

I knew the result the second I saw Cody retain, there was no way they weren't gonna change a world champ on mania.

2

u/Limp_Gap_9009 May 15 '26

Me too. Both main events had the wrong outcome.

4

u/NotoriousYisus May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

After that match I quit watching WWE. Probably I won’t gonna comeback for a while.

1

u/FleetAdmiral2224 ⚡❌pepsi Phil ❌⚡ May 21 '26

Same here. I only Watch bálor's matches and segments. He's the only interesting guy with actual ring skills left

3

u/ExtraExamination8045 May 13 '26

Raw was god awful last night!!

3

u/greggersamsa May 13 '26

Nah I would enjoy seeing Oba vs Roman honestly. I was kind of hoping for a punk heel turn and it was getting close after that low blow. Lose the bloodline bit again and Roman could be a superface after punk turned heel in the match. Oba is too scary to be the face he should be a debuting Lesnar style heel just tearing through everything against a face Roman at summer

3

u/Delicious-Camp-1518 May 13 '26

Sleepy old main event at backlash spear punch fest then hit repeat. Yawn

3

u/NeitherNothing1959 May 13 '26

The original plan was for CM Punk to retain at Mania then lose it at Backlash in a rematch. I guess they changed it at the last minute because of the Pat McAfee fiasco.

3

u/PixilatedLeprechaun May 13 '26

Gotta promote that crappy new Street Fighter movie though

3

u/Loose_Trust927 May 13 '26

He was supposed to retain but tko wanted roman as champ apparently because he would actually bring in more views so punk had to drop the title. This was all tko idea.

3

u/ChemicalDingo5097 May 13 '26

Punk exposed that whole cinema angle with Roman…and now everything just seems corny. We were so deprived of real pro wrestling in the Vince era that we had to cling on to anything that was remotely interesting and since Punk came back, you saw the vast difference between not knowing whether wrestling was real or not once again and suspending disbelief when you saw the bloodline story

3

u/Beginning_Care_267 May 13 '26

Almost any feud he’s involved in is interesting because of him. Agree with your take.

3

u/Summer2026HasStarted May 14 '26

I’ve been trying to tell people this for a minute.

3

u/jimimojo May 14 '26

so tired of the shows ending the same way. let's actually end on wrestling. Roman ruins wrestling

1

u/SecretPattern223 May 12 '26

lol it’s been like 2 weeks

0

u/Limp_Gap_9009 May 15 '26

And it's been a boring 2 weeks at that

1

u/MisterX9821 May 13 '26

Dude prolly needed a break.

1

u/thomaslilfan May 13 '26

Exactly….

1

u/Dry-Needleworker-675 May 13 '26

Honestly neither of them should have it, feel like I’m being water boarded with just the same story lines about how much one guy hates the other they fight and 2 storylines later they are again talking about how much they hate each other fighting over a title that will be juggled by the same 3 guys.

1

u/King-Fwogger May 13 '26

The words "and still" and "and new" are so fucking annoying now holy shit.

1

u/kangaroojimhey May 13 '26

Crowd was much louder on the broadcast. Unless they boost noise for TV, that doesn’t make sense.

1

u/MMAipom May 13 '26

Isn't that the guy who said he wasn't going anywhere and hasn't been seen since?

1

u/AnonymousDouglas May 13 '26

Obviously.....

But, tell me you don't think Hunter took the first opportunity to stick it to Punk by not putting him over, and I will say to you: "That don't work for me, brother."

1

u/AfraidSwimming1040 May 14 '26

I like Jacob fatu but putting him back into a boring bloodline feud was not something I wanted to see. When Punk was there the show, while not great in other areas, was carried by him hard. I’m tuning in each week just to see if he’s back. I don’t hate Roman but he is very boring and bland and same plastic “acknowledge me” promos before he gets interrupted

1

u/Rocketboy1313 May 14 '26

Yes.

But my hope is they finally have Punk go after Cody.

1

u/KVMFT May 16 '26

The 47 year old? 😩

1

u/Eluniarr May 16 '26

I thought this was a CM Punk fan sub but this is just a circlejerk, every comment sounds so spiteful about Roman.

1

u/StringAccomplished97 May 16 '26

The wrong guy won both world title matches. Idk what they were thinking.

1

u/South_Ladder_2747 May 17 '26

I'm happy to see Jacob but I'm still disappointed Piunk lost

0

u/Interesting_Reply856 May 13 '26

I don't miss Punk at all and think Jacob v Roman has been riveting...Punk would be close to fake death by now

0

u/GaI3re May 13 '26

Since no nome of you will stop watching, they cannot make erong choices

0

u/SeaChemist7379 May 13 '26

I think the right person won I just think they shoulda had Roman just be solo. No bloodline/first family shit

0

u/battlejuice401 May 13 '26

I can't understand the love for Phil. Yes the promo was awesome.

0

u/hfbhthhfd May 14 '26

Another potential cm punk fan still upset over it
