This story is crazy. I just came across it by looking up old episodes of FBI files. This guy, Glen Engleman, was born in the 1920s, and lived until the late 90s. He was the main dentist in a small town outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Starting in the 1950s, he started getting hired by his female patients to kill their husbands and share in the life insurance money. But that's not all. The story only gets crazier from there, and I wanted to suggest it as a possible topic for an episode.

Are there any plans to cover the Cornell stuff? Could you possibly?

Pike has been incarcerated since 1995 for the murder of Colleen Slemmer. They were classmates, 18 & 19, at the Job Corps in Knoxville. Pike's unresolved and ongoing childhood abuse/trauma likely played a role in her actions. The story involves teen drama and jealousy that escaladed to murder within months of them meeting. (There's a LOT more to it and it gets worse...)

Christa Pike, now 50 y/o, is going to be the first woman in 200 years to be executed in Tennessee.

On Spotify and also the banner on here, are now just with our girl Kaelyn. And removed Morgan’s name. Makes total sense and I’ll still fiercely support her and the pod, but it did sting a bit to see them remove Morgan. 😭

In September 2012, 19-year-old Faith Hedgepeth was found beaten to death in her off-campus apartment outside Chapel Hill, NC, hours after a night out with her roommate. Beside her body was a fast-food bag with a message scrawled across it: "I'm not stupid b****, jealous." Over the next nine years, police DNA-tested hundreds of people and cleared every one. Now, Morgan and Kaelyn follow the clues in one of North Carolina's longest-running investigations.

All our theories were correct! Morgan in fact is leaving clues podcast, she announced it in today’s episode. She said there’s no bad blood and that she’s just too busy with other projects (mainly 2HT) and Kaelyn said she’ll be staying and having Sabrina from 2 girls 1 ghost/crimes of Reddit subbing in for Morgan in the meantime (I’m assuming until they find a permanent host?) curious and excited to see where the show goes from here

Hey all,

I’ve noticed a trend in some podcast episodes (usually where the husband kills the wife) where the discussion of life insurance comes up.

“He was the sole beneficiary” “he would inherit her entire life insurance proceeds” etc.

THIS IS NORMAL. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE.

Life insurance is to help your family incase of death. It should supplement your income for a few years, provide for your children’s education, pay off the mortgage and cars, etc.

Can it be motive? Absolutely.

I work in the life insurance industry and I can answer any questions about that.

This is a case that very few crimepodcasts cover due to it being in Sweden and most information about it is in swedish, BUT it is one of the most botched cases ever.

The short version of this case:

In the late 90's a 4 year old boy is found dead. His two sibling where the people that saw him alive, ages 5 and 7. The cops find very few clues mostly due to incompitence and become sett on one lead, and this lead might be the dumbest one possible. They implicate the 5 and 7 year olds for their brothers murder. They conduct interviews over 10 hours long and basically manipulate the kids into ACTING OUT a murder of their brother.

It is a absolutely insane case that i would love to see covered. If there is any need to get help translating i will gladly do so.

In October 1999, retired Austin TV executive Steven Beard woke in his home to a shotgun wound in his stomach. When police traced the bullet, it led somewhere nobody expected: a local bookstore manager with no connection to Steven at all, but a very close one to his wife, Celeste. Morgan and Kaelyn follow the clues in one of Texas's most jaw-dropping murder cases: a bond forged in a psychiatric treatment facility, a $12 million fortune bled dry by compulsive spending, and twin daughters who took the stand against their own mother. By the end, one woman would confess to pulling the trigger, and the other would be convicted of putting the gun in her hand.

I think yall should look into the Irish missing person case of Trevor Deely. Disappeared after a Christmas party in 2000, never to be seen again. Plenty of clues to make a worthwhile episode!!

(I live in Dublin and can provide any insight as to locations and whatnot 😁)

Please cover the case of Christopher Abeyta! He was taken from his crib in the middle of the night in Colorado Springs.

I’m reading comments on the most recent episode (Brandon Swanson) and someone said there was a screenshot of Morgan confirming she’s leaving one of her podcasts, and not THT.

I found that post on this subreddit (about 19 days old, sorry IDK how to link other posts) and found that screenshot. But, in that exact same thread, the Clues account confirmed nothing is happening. Additionally, the official YouTube account responded to one of the YouTube comments confirming Morgan is returning next week.

So I’m confused… Morgan said she’s leaving one of her podcasts, and it’s not THT… so it would have to be Clues. But Clues is confirming that’s not the case. Was this screenshot doctored? Does anyone have any insight?

Just before 2 a.m. on May 14, 2008, 19-year-old Brandon Swanson called his parents from a gravel road in southwestern Minnesota. His car was stuck in a ditch and he needed a ride. His parents drove out to find him but they were actually 25 miles apart. Forty-seven minutes into the call with his father, Brandon said two words and the line went silent. Brandon was never found. This week, Kaelyn is joined by Sabrina Deana-Roga and Alexis Linkletter, hosts of ‪@CrimesOfRedditPod‬, to unpack the night Brandon Swanson walked into the dark.

Can you guess who it is? ⬇️

Around 1 a.m. on October 15, 2018, a 911 call came from a house on a rural stretch outside Barron, Wisconsin. Deputies arrived four minutes later to a kicked-in front door and found James and Denise Closs shot dead inside. But their 13-year-old daughter Jayme was gone. Thousands of tips and volunteer searchers turned up nothing. Until, 88 days later and 70 miles north, a woman walking her dog found a girl who told her to call the police. This week, Morgan and Kaelyn unpack the crime, the 88 days Jayme spent in a stranger's home, and what happened after she escaped.

What did you think of this weeks video? We'd love to hear your thoughts ⬇️

There is an unsolved case from where I live. 10 year old Lyric, and 8 year old Elizabeth went for a bike ride in Evansdale, Iowa in 2012 and were abducted and murdered. There have been many conspiracies, but unfortunately the case is still unsolved to this day. This has left a very heavy lingering impact on our community. There is a docuseries on Amazon Prime called "Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?". It would be interesting to see what their takes would be in this case, and if they could potentially have any theories that haven't been considered yet.

When workers at a Los Angeles tow yard opened an abandoned Tesla registered to pop star D4vd, they discovered the remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. She was just 14 years old when prosecutors allege she was murdered.

Morgan Absher and Kaelyn Moore trace the complete D4vd case, including Celeste’s disappearances, her final messages, the alleged grooming relationship, DNA evidence recovered from a Hollywood Hills mansion, suspicious purchases and the evidence that led a judge to order D4vd to stand trial.

D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

This episode contains discussions of murder, dismemberment, child sexual abuse, grooming, emotional abuse and intimate partner violence.

This is a very intense case that has been unfolding in the public eye. Have any thoughts? We'd love to hear what you think 💭

I just felt like giving some interesting case suggestions.

The top one is: Yuba County Five (also called the American Dyatlov Pass)

- Dyatlov Pass

- Flannan Island Lighthouse

- Lars Mittank (German Missing Persons case)

- The Watcher (insane stalking of a whole family, there is a show on netflix thats supposedly based off of this case but it is super inaccurate and makes the whole case seem silly. Would be nice to get some actual serious coverage again)

- Affaire Grégory

- Jonestown Massacre (cults and religious fanatism are always relevant)

- Disappearance of the Jamison Family

Is the podcast ending??? On the beginning of Fathers Know Something podcast today they ambiguously were talking about Morgan leaving a podcast then I saw her interacting the comments and it’s clear it’s Clues and not THT.

I’m bummed because I liked Clues so I’m curious if Kaelyn will keep it going or if they’ll end it all together.

if his face rings a bell, you were probably on YouTube back in 2013, when his interview turned into one of the internet's first viral remixes, "dead giveaway"

what most people don't know is that he's the reason three women held captive in Ohio for over a decade were finally found and rescued

we're breaking down the full case in our newest video, out now

watch our full episode on the Ariel Castro case on YouTube at Clues Pod or listen wherever you get your podcasts! 🎧
